Services
Tweed House in yeadon was established in 1983 by Gil Averis. in 1991 she opened a second branch in pudsey. In 1999 the Yeadon branch was expanded and extensive alterations were carried out to provide excellent facilities for the patients and our veterinary staff. Tweed House also has a branch surgery at Pudsey.
UK Pet Passports are no longer valid for entry into the EU. Pets must travel with an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) and a new certificate is required for each journey into the EU or Northern Ireland. Your pet must be microchipped and have a current, up to date Rabies vaccination. If it is not up to date your pet cannot travel for 21 days after vaccination.
We offer a choice of vaccinations to suit the individual requirements of owners and their pets. Require two vaccinations usually given at 8 and 10 weeks of age. They are not fully protected until 2 weeks after the 2nd vaccination so they should not walk on any public areas such as parks and roads and must not socialise with unvaccinated dogs.
As with humans, many conditions that affect pet animals require long-term treatment. Repeat prescriptions can be collected, but we like to see the patient every 3 months. This is not only to comply with the Veterinary Medicines Regulations, but also to assess how the treatment is progressing and to check there is no deterioration in your pet.
We always strive to improve at Tweed House and are constantly updating our methods and procedures in line with evidence based medicine. Phillip recently passed his British Small Animal Veterinary Association Certificate in Small Animal Medicine Exams. We now use Sevoflurane inhalational anaesthetic.

I’ve been a customer for years at the above but felt I should review them as I’ve never done so. This practice is without doubt the best vets I’ve ever used, I’ve been at other vets ( depending on where I lived ) but found these and they’ve been wonderful even in sad times they have been caring, compassionate and understanding. The quality of service is excellent and the staff from reception to vets are first class. So thank you all for looking after me and our various pets!

THV were really good when we took our precious cat in for some dental work, they had a comfortable pen already set up for her and looked after her with great care and kindness. Her treatment went well and the nurse was very helpful when she explained the aftercare to us - we wouldn’t take our cat to any other vet.

Good honest practise. They don't appear to overcharge or ask if you are insured, so you know that the prognosis they give isn't driven by the potential money they can generate with costly scans and medicines. I've only had good experiences with them so far (3 years on 1 cat and 1 dog). There is also a really nice up-beat female vet that works there. Wish I could remember her name.
