Though times have changed since my great, great, great, great, great grandfather Thomas started the family business in 1780 where he farmed land at Trunce Farm, near Wortley. It was Thomas' son James who started a small butchers shop on the farm. As butchering became more successful James' son Joseph Dyson moved to another farm at Oxspring near Penistone which was a bigger farm and allowed the butchering business to expand.
All nationwide weekday deliveries will be delivered before midday on the scheduled delivery day. You can choose either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday and a wide range of quality meat. A signature will be required by DPD unless you leave a comment when you order to leave in a secure location. DPD will re-attempt delivery the next day if there is no-one in to sign for the parcel and there is no safe place mentioned.
They say good things come to those who wait. The same can be applied to beef. At Eat Great Meat, we only use traditional British breeds (Aberdeen Angus beef, Dexter, Hereford, Highland etc). They are bred to withstand outdoor conditions and take longer to mature than the more commercial breeds. It means that when you buy beef online, you get the best cuts and the best flavour, alongside the assurance that your meat is 100% British.
All our lamb meat is supplied by local Yorkshire farmers who our family have built long-lasting relationships with over 8 generations of our trade. We love supporting our local economy, but we also use Yorkshire farmers because, quite simply, they're the best. The most tender and tasty lamb comes from Yorkshire farms.

Bought an assortment of meats, delivered promptly and well packed.
Two tomahawk steaks were included in my order and I was very disappointed with both. Cooked one a while ago but wouldn’t comment until I’d tried the second. Both tough and chewy. I’ve had this cut of meat before from various stores and they have been fabulous. Hope the rest of my order is an improvement.

This is a bit of a mixed bag. I ordered a range of meat, fillets, lamb chops, short ribs, bacon etc. The flavour and quality of the lamb chops were excellent, bacon was slightly thick but that’s my preference. My issues lie around communication and the short ribs mostly. I was really disappointed when the ‘short ribs’ turned up uncut, 11 inch whole rib bones. I tried to communicate this via the email address twice and have received no response. For a starter, they just aren’t short ribs, plain and simple. Secondly I would hope to of at least been acknowledged. The problem is, whilst they

It was all amazing!
This time ordered 4kh of rib beef 2kg of brisket, bacon, sausage,black pudding.. pork rib eyes..pork belly!! .

We normally use a local wholesale butcher however decided to give Eat Great Meat a try. Service was fantastic and the quality of the meat was excellent. I thought I would give these guys a try as nothing ventured nothing gained as they say, well I was impressed not only by the portion sizes but the flavour of the meat. I brought lamb, beef and pork and have enjoyed every morsel, I am a good home cook and though I live on my own I prefer home cooked meals every day also I enjoy entertaining but due… to the current climate I cant do that, but I did make a beef, mushroom and onion pie filling using your stewing beef and shared that with the family, it was delicious, so I am going to place another order as I was so impressed.

Just received my second delivery from Eat Great Meat and cant recommend their meat or delivery service highly enough. The quality of all the meat is superb, and until I tried these guys I thought I was never going to find anything that was as tender and flavoursome as that which my Butcher Grandfather produced years ago, but boy how wrong was I. The Sirloin was outstanding . Great prices too. Thank you guys

Without doubt the best butchers anywhere to be found. The meat is super fresh, good quality and a great taste. Very well priced as well. I have been using Eat Great meat for a very long time and have never had a problem. Fast delivery! I order in large amounts and always find the service to be totally fantastic. I would highly recommend Eat Great Meat and would never use any other butcher. I haven't ordered supermarket meat for years. Good luck to you all.
