The Delaunay
Inspired by the grand cafs of Mittel-Europe, The Delaunay is an all-day caf-restaurant from Corbin & King; the team behind The Wolseley. The Delaunay is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant and the bar is open all day, from Monday to Sunday. The Delaunay offers a selection of classic Central European dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Complementing the elegance of the main restaurant, our Private Dining Room can comfortably seat up to 12 guests. In the heart of London's theatreland, The Delaunay is perfectly located for enjoying a meal before or after a matine or evening show. Explore our News page for current offers, partnerships, recipes, stories and some 'Behind the Scenes' insight.
Services
Michelle started her career in hospitality in 2005 with Gordon Ramsay Restaurants in the Private Dining and Events sector, working her way up to Private Dining Manager for the group. She joined C&K in 2011 under this remit and created our Private Dining department. Once established and due to her interest in a more customer facing role, Michelle moved to The Wolseley as a Floor Manager.
The Delaunay serves a varied selection of classic Central European dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At the present time we will not be offering Afternoon Tea. If you have a voucher for afternoon tea, please call our team, where you can either redeem it at The Wolseley, or for a different meal period at The Delaunay.
Breakfast at The Delaunay offers a wide-ranging menu from Viennoiserie, eggs and kedgeree to cereals, yoghurts, porridge, pancakes, smoothies and seasonal juices. We ensure a certain number of tables are available on a first come first served basis, however we do recommend making a reservation in advance.
Evoking the timeless glamour of 1930s Mitteleuropa, The Delaunay Bar serves a range of classic cocktails, fine wines and Austrian beers seven days a week. With its dark wood panelling, green leather banquettes, brass fittings and low lighting - The Delaunay Bar provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere, right in the heart of London's theatreland.
A traditional Viennese caf - adjacent to The Delaunay restaurant - offering a selection of pastries, cakes, sandwiches, soups and salads along with hot and cold drinks, to eat in or take away. The Delaunay Counter's relaxed atmosphere is reminiscent of typical Mittel-European cafs and it serves simple but exceptional food, prepared daily by The Delaunay chefs.

Gorgeous service and lovely food, as ever. A little quiet tonight, Christmas and Covid have caused some cancellations. But gorgeous as ever.

The atmosphere was warm and elegant. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Decent wine selection. The duck is certainly recommended and the schnitzel was also quite tasty.

My family and I had our dinner here when we were travelling in London. Enjoyed the service and the ambience in the restaurant. We asked for recommendations for food and drinks which we enjoyed. Will certainly return when I am back in London again !

An ancient and luxury place for eating , we had a coffee ☕️ there at the restaurant. They used to had there own cafe in a separate place but not anymore after the pandemic and the shortage in staff.
Their coffee taste good but no much variety of desserts
They provide it with piece of dark chocolate 🍫

The food, service and portion sizes are great.
This is the only place in London with a good coffe 🤩
I am a picky eater and our waiter helped me make the dish perfect for me. I had the vegetarian breakfast.
He was also very friendly and approachable. Thank you!

The food at the Delauney is always great and this time was even better, good quality and the portions are generous and very tasty, family also enjoyed it and four the flavours balanced and authentic.
The breakfasts are also of a high quality and defiantly a good go to place for lunch if you want a quality meal. The food was all freshly made and the service was impeccable as always.
Will go again :)

Very good European if slightly eclectic menu (schnitzel and kedgeree both excellent). Calm atmosphere for Sunday lunch with a number of families. The portions were a very good size which is always to be commended.

This restaurant offers amazing service and food. We have managed to arrange a reservation 1 hour in advance and were greeted by welcoming staff.
What we had on that day was: pea soup, duck confit, eggs Benedict and a strudel.
Everything tasted amazing. I do warn those ordering the duck that it has a bit of herbal taste because of the spices they use but the meat absolutely melts in your mouth with perfectly crisp skin.
The pea soup was delicious and really reminded us of home.
Also I do recommend ordering the coffee since the presentation is amazing as well as the taste.

Coming here was the highlight of my time spent in London. The dining room is beautiful dark wood that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time for a moment. My friend and I split the afternoon tea and every single item was delicious. The chamomile and the Delaunay blend were both stellar as well. We felt oh so posh and had a marvelous time.

The food and vibe here was on point! Loved the cozy brasserie feel and all the flavors were incredible. The service is what is holding up a pure 5 star experience. They seem to have forgotten us many many times. From getting wine orders or bringing us bread or checking in on our cocktails, it was a bit of a mess. We had to stay on top of the servers ourselves the whole night. Not fun. But the food was tastyAF! Even the freaking bread, holy moly, that was a damn good baguette with butter! Loved the pierogis, only wish portion size was a bit larger. Mussels were very good. And nice beef tartare.

It's nice to have a late night option for post-theatre dining. The Delauney has a peaceful and elegant feel - a great place go relax with friends.

The Stroganoff was excellent. It's not made in the style often found in the US (lots of brown gravy and sour cream) but with a central European flavor - think redder and spicier.

The schnitzel was solid and quite a sizeable portion.

I also highly recommend the crumble - the vanilla sauce and the brown sugary goodness on top made for a delightful mix.

Very good but not great is how I would describe it. I started with the Delaunay cocktail and then started with the tartare. That was fantastic and I could see just getting the tartare on a return trip. It was great. For a main, I had the sea bass which was good and then dessert was Kaiserschmarren--basically torn up pancake with some berry syrup, a very traditional german dessert. The dessert was not as good as I have had in Austria so maybe that is why while I enjoyed it, it didnt stand out as much.

Another marvelous meal, this time trying the French toast made with peach-apricot compote, drizzled sugar, and creme freiche. Absolutely superb. My fellow diners enjoyed fresh pastries, pink grapefruit, and more French toast--all declared the meal outstanding. Extra special shout out for taking care of one diner who now must use a walker; she was pampered in many small but thoughtful ways.

I was pretty skeptical when I walked in, because the atmosphere seemed a little bit off. It might just have been because we arrived late (around 10 PM). My opinions quickly turned around, as the food and the service were both great.

The Delaunay has an extensive separate vegetarian menu, with a bunch of vegan, dairy free, and gluten free choices (pleasantly surprising for a place that seemed pretty old school). I ordered the chickpea & broccoli burger (as the waitress recommended) with fries, and it didn't disappoint. It was thick and meaty, and felt like a solid substitute for a regular

If you're on a budget, don't be intimidated - The menu rapide is a great option without breaking the bank. We had dinner before heading down to a west end theater (not the Aldwych, but it's right across the street). Would recommend!

We went for lunch here while we were recently in London. The interior is very nice with lots of wood and the display counters were filled with lots of delicious food. They seated us very promptly. They have a very nice menu with lots of soups and sandwiches and small plates. We ordered a quiche with a salad and tomato soup with rye bread and wine. The soup and bread was delicious just like your Mom would make. My husband liked his quiche and the service was excellent. We ate here twice on our stay and enjoyed it a lot. They also had great looking desserts.

We were visiting London to see my brother who was studying abroad there. Since he had not done the "Afternoon Tea" experience, my research took me here to the Delaunay.

Yes, this place is certainly upscale. It is "pink up" fancy. I almost felt a bit out of place but I knew what to expect as I have done other afternoon tea type experiences. For 20 or so pounds, I think you get a pretty good tea experience. What it includes is a tea selection/tea pot for each individual as well as a selection of sweet and savories such as little canapes, scones, etc. I thought I would love the
