Windsor Care is one of the UK's leading independent providers of specialist mental health hospital services for adults and Nursing care. Windsor Care is located in the tranquil environment of Hurley in Berkshire and offers a homely, welcoming, fulfilling and nurturing environment with outstanding facilities.

Windsor Care services have a dual purpose whereby mental health regulated activities run parallel to a Nursing Home environment, the services cater for the needs of both genders. The accommodation provides spacious rooms which are all en-suite with television lounges, dining areas and extra personal care facilities.
Services
People at Windsor Care will be provided with the support necessary which promotes independence through rehabilitation programmes as a result of assessments and care plans that are developed with the individual as a priority. People will be given opportunities to participate in local activities and community life whenever possible.
The service is divided into five separate areas that are gender specific. The service focusses on providing care and treatment that centres on the individual utilising direct input from the hospital's Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) which may also have a specific focus on Psychology.

The service is able to provide care and treatment for people who are detained under the Mental Health Act or are admitted as patients on an informal basis, these patients will have the benefit of a full package of care provided by the multi-disciplinary team. The service also provides nursing services for people who have difficulties in residing at home or in other nursing services within the community.
Windsor Care is a purpose built facility, offering accommodation over two floors, the accommodation on the first floor is accessible by a passenger lift. There are 42 individual bedrooms which offer toilet and washing/shower facilities en-suite. There are additional bathrooms and toilets accessible for all.
Care plans and risk assessments are compiled by our multidisciplinary team and always consulted with each person and their next of kin. These documents are regularly updated to ensure that appropriate type andlevel of care is provided for everyone. Once a formal request for admission has been made by either a relative, Social Worker or Health Authority, a formal assessment will be made.
We provide therapeutic and socially inclusive programs in accordance to the multidisciplinary team assessments and formulations. We allow people to be involved and take a lead in planning and the delivery of their care. Our treatment model embraces the principles of rehabilitation, person centred treatment and recovery, underpinned by social inclusion and robust positive risk management.

Report
Lots of caring and supportive staff but unfortunately some very serious concerns with procedures around care and background checks on staff in the past. Following a seizure my Mum was not given appropriate medical care. My Mum has also had possessions taken from her by a member of staff who had not had a criminal record check prior to being employed. When there was a problem with my Mum's wheelchair that was not resolved in good time, this resulted in her losing her little toe. I would love to think that these issues have been resolved, and would not re-occur, but sadly I am not convinced of this
