Our control room featuring 64 Channel Tascam DM-4800 desk, Dynaudio Core 59 and BM6A MkII monitors, outboard Neve Pre-amps for pristine vocals and Mac Pro Quad-Core processing has been designed to provide the perfect recording and listening environment. Our large live room is fully controllable and versatile, allowing both open and dry sounds to be achieved according to session requirements.
At Astar Studios we seek to capture the very best performance from every artist and help support their musical ambitions. As a 'Producer Owned' studio, our reputation rests upon the quality of every recording that bears our name and that of the studio's producer Andy Ross. Where needed we provide help with songwriting, pre-production and access to the finest instruments and session musicians.

Hire a venue and their tech (all for free), run a campaign for bands to win a chance to play at your gig, have bands that already use your studio play, and tell competition entrants they've been selected as a 'wildcard' who have to turn up with their gear at 7:30 when doors open, buy their tickets to get into the gig, and MAYBE they'll be picked to… play on the night. "But here's a voucher so you can get like an hour or two's worth of recording done at our studio, then we can ply you with our amazing deals and prices and try and get you to take out one of our loans or financing plans so

The show at Jimmy’s Liverpool on September 1st is a complete shambles. it’s good to have a showcase of bands you’ve worked with, but to ask bands to PAY to come in with their mates with a “wild card” chance to possibly play on stage is ridiculous. i will NOT be using this business as it seems whoever is behind it all is just using the goodwill of a free venue to line his pockets!!!

I have made a few recordings in my 25 years pro in the music business. This time, with an 8 piece band, to record all we needed to do in 1 day, was ambitious. Andy, at Astar somehow achieved all we hoped for with time to spare...yet he remained chilled all day long. We finished our work day an hour ahead of the schedule. I have Andys final mix today...his first mix was very close to perfection ...he was also helpful in making a few minor changes I wanted. I will definitely be back..and recommend anyone who expects first class quality at a fair cost, try Astar..you will be happy you did!
