80 HERTZ is a Manchester post production audio house working with clients across the UK and internationally. Our Manchester post production house specialises in ADR (automated dialogue replacement), voice over via Source Connect, ISDN, Skype or telephone patch, stereo audio mixing and mastering. Large format (4874 cubic feet) exceptionally low noise floor surround sound control room with it's own 5 person booth & ADR stage.
Audio mastering is the technical & artistic process of balancing, equalising & enhancing analogue or digital mediums to ensure the final product achieves maximum musicality - to compete in the open music market. Our audio mastering studio is acoustically flat & honest. We predominately use analogue outboard processing featuring valve/tube gems from D.W Fearn, including the VT7 compressor, VT5 EQ & 2x VT2 line amps.
80 HERTZ offers a high end podcast studio in Manchester for up to 4 contributors with space for a producer & engineer too. Professionally treated specifically for voice recording with no 'echo' or unpleasant room tones/reverb. Podcast sessions can be self operated, or have one of our highly skilled and experienced engineers present.
Source-Connect is an independent communication service, that is not able to connect directly to any ISDN. Our Source-Connect bridging facility operates seamlessly with ISDN, Phone Patch, Skype or Google Hangouts. We carry two stereo ISDN units including a Telos Zephr & CDQ Prima 110 for great compatibly across the world.

It's been a pleasure to work with George on all of our records and we could not ask for more from him or the studio. George's attention to detail when mixing and engineering is second to none and he always gets the best out of the music. We always enjoy our sessions here, whether its recording or mixing, the vibe is professional but easy going and we have always felt relaxed and easily inspired in the space.

I worked with George for my Francis Lung project - George is a brilliant mastering engineer, super attentive to detail and very welcoming of feedback. I really appreciated how he used particular pieces of gear to compliment and accentuate the music. He executed everything in a considered, meticulous and very musical manner. Highly recommend.

This is a truly glorious space. First things first, the gear is second to none. They have seemingly endless mics, outboard gear and the glorious desk to get any sound you could need. Not to mention the marvellous vintage amps and that perfect piano. Then the people, who are all incredibly skilled at what they do, and wonderful to work with. But my favourite thing is the sound of that live room. It is completely delicious, vibey but tuned to perfection. The team at 80Hertz was wonderful. I had a producer and interviewee in Manchester who went into 80Hertz. The team was very detailed, thorough, and helped me to make sure that we could be a part of the recording all the way from the states - via video chat too! Got the files quickly and they sounded fantastic.

I had the pleasure of tracking some drums with George at 80 Hertz. The live room was a great size and sounded naturally beautiful. The session was well run and went very smoothly; George is a relaxed and friendly person who makes all aspects of recording totally stress-free. All the mic-ing choices were considered, thoughtful and effective, and George always seemed to have each song in his heart during the process, suggesting alterations to parts or tuning as appropriate.
Even once the tracking was done, George sat with us and played some (great) tracks which he felt could be useful as reference

George had previously mastered a couple of my band Driver Drive Faster's tracks at 80 HERTZ and we were really pleased with the results, so I was looking forward to spending a day recording a new project there and was confident that the sound would be good, but I have to say my expectations were easily surpassed.
The studio is fantastic, the live room is very big and sounds great and the equipment and mics were all top quality. It was also a pleasure to work with George engineering and producing, and the day was intensely productive but also had a relaxed atmosphere. I was pleased to get home

Well, it's not every day you find yourself in a professional music studio, no siree. And my, was it amazing! I shall give you some context first, as although it would be awesome, I am not some kind of upcoming, next-big-thing music maestra (sigh), although my dad has been writing songs for a long time and has enough for a full album. So, seeing as I have music contacts, I arranged for him to record it in a proper studio. And boy, did I pick exactly the right place!!
