I phoned to book an appointment this morning. I started ringing at 8.10 but did not put through until 8.45 and when I spoke to the receptionist she asked me to ring again tomorrow morning at 8 to book an appointment as it is too late now despite telling her I'm not well and would like to talk to a GP!! This is always the case with this medical center. Very disappointed.

I've been a patient here for over 10 years. They have massively improved over the last 3 or 4 years and the staff are always helpful. I was unsure how the new 'covid safe' system worked, but I quickly got an appointment for a regular test when I needed it a couple of weeks ago. When I needed to speak to a doctor last week, I phoned at 8am, got through within 10 minutes and the doctor phoned back by 10:30. She was super helpful and hopefully sorted out my problem.
The only thing I would question is the system for phoning at 8am. My issue last week wasn't urgent, but I still had to compete with

They are not the only GP practice to do this but forcing every sick person to compete for appointments on the day, by phone, is a very unkind and ineffective way to offer medical help to the people whose taxes pay for their practice.
I have been with them for more than 30 years and they used to be great but service has deteriorated steadily over the years.
It is not easy to be a GP practice these days but Park Medical compares poorly with others in the city, in my opinion.

I am being told the only way to book an appointment is to telephone between 8 and 9am on the day for the day. If you don't have access to a phone at those times, you are unable to ever book an appointment with your GP. I'm told no online bookings, no booking in advance, no booking at any other times as all slots will have gone as they only open the slots on the day for the day. If I was to think of the worst booking method to implement, I don't think I could beat that. If you don't have access to a phone between those times, you simply cannot see your GP.

My experience with Park Medical Chester has been great. They have an online booking system, which you can book blood tests, see a GP and telephone appointments. So I don't even need to ring up!
I've been seeing one GP since being there so I can't speak for the others at the practice, but she's the best GP I've seen, full stop. I hope I never need to change practice.
Highly recommended.
