The Valley Medical Centre
Smokefree Liverpool is still supporting residents to quit smoking, and it's never been easier. We have been advised by the suppliers of our flu vaccines that due to unforeseen circumstances there will be a delay in the practice receiving some vaccines this year. The first call for help takes courage. If you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health or wellbeing, expert help is available from Op COURAGE: The Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.
Services
Calls made outside of surgery hours will be carried out by PC24 out of hour's service. A recorded message at the surgery will give details of how to obtain urgent medical attention. In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS 111 to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
We make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage them to improve. We monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and we publish what we find, including performance ratings to help people choose care.
The Practice has open surgery each morning 09:00 - 10:30am. We regret that patients arriving after 10:30am will not be seen. Doors and phones open at 08:00am The doctors are usually available at each morning surgery, except for holidays and sickness periods. You do not need an appointment to see any of the doctors in the morning surgery except for Dr A Noble.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance. House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.

Can't "pre-book" me in for a phone call but if I call up at 8am they can book me in that day. The receptionist then tells me "it's really busy in the morning but if you get through we can book you in for a call"
I wonder why it's so busy if you can't take bookings until 8am that day?
Useless system, useless staff. Couldn't even tell me the address for their website.

This doctors surgery is possibly one of the worst in Liverpool. The reception staff are either not trained properly or not managed properly. They are unprofessional and have no customer service skills. They speak to customers or patients in an appalling and off hand manner. If you make a complaint then the practice Manager is equally poor and fobs you off. The reception staff do not even know how to answer the phone properly.

Now they have a, lovely young woman doctor. I really question why the others became doctors. I had to ask one 6 times not to speak to me in the manner she did. The nurse is nice. Reception staff look down on you. If my carer calls she gets through instantly. If i call its a game of calling exactly when they say or they will not entertain you. But that time is busy and u cant get through. So God help you if you are ill past 8am in the morning. I went at 7am expecting an appointment and the doctors dont arrive til 9am. Imagine a disabled person sitting for 2 hours. I cant walk and time after time

Really professional set up. Staff welcoming and polite. Doing a fantastic job of immunising people. Can't praise them too highly.

I only give 1 star because the doctor I been seeing is good. But she was the only one saw the others and there are just not good. Don't see the point on going. Every time you want to book an appointment it has to be very early from 8 to 9 am otherwise they can't see their appointment and ask you to call the next day AND these are for the following week! Also they can't see any days, so if you call on a Monday they can only see the following Monday, if you call on a Tuesday, they can only see the following Tuesday, and so on..... Ohh they will suggest to go on their opening day, Mondays 8 to 10

Awful Experiences here, not only are reception really unhelpful but seem quite disinterested in your issues they don't get back to you and you end up chasing them for mistakes made by no fault of your own!!!! Also there attitude seems as if there doing you a favour. I would move doctors if times where easier bring back Dr Noble he was helpful and cared genuinely.

Extremely helpful staff as my daughter is a student in Liverpool here and I came over so we could sign her up with Drs etc and The Valley Medical Centre isn't to far from her University and she got an appointment within a week (wouldn't happen as quickly as that at home) They also do open surgery in the mornings (not sure if its every morning) which is great too. I know my daughter is in safe hands x

I am absolutely disgusted in the reception here. I am always fighting for a appointment, even for my one and three year old. I called on Wednesday to make an appointment between Wednesday and Friday , at anytime , and was told there was non and I have to wait to go to the five ways on Saturday morning. Which is inconvenient as I feel dreadful and know I need antibiotics! After being told this, my husband called and was offered an appointment for Friday. I am absolutely disgusted in this service.
