Northampton Sailing Club's Dylan Fletcher wins gold in Tokyo! Dylan Fletcher, who learned to sail and race at NSC, has gone on to win sailing gold at the Tokyo Olympics! The club runs regular dinghy racing which is carried out under the rules and provisions of the ISAF and the RYA. RYA Senior Instructor Alex Gibbons runs our fun and informative training courses in sailing, windsurfing and paddleboarding.
Open to both members and non-members, courses range from taster sessions to RYA courses and qualifications, for both juniors and adults. Taster sessions are approximately two hours long and comprise of a brief introduction to the sport and equipment before going afloat on our beautiful reservoir.

30+ They may be accompanied by shore-based family members who live under the same household. All members must abide by the club rules which can be amended or replaced during an AGM or EGM where members have the chance to vote on and propose changes. The club relies on volunteers, we do not make members do duties outside of racing as we understand members live busy lives.
NSC regularly hosts a range of National and Open events for sailing, windsurfing and youth classes. Race facilities include: committee boats, safety boats, race officers and shore side support for registration and results. At NSC we love good social event and enjoy running these alongside Opens to make your event truly memorable.
RYA Start Sailing (Level 1) - This course will cover the basic skills of sailing a boat. From getting the boat ready to steering and turning. You will start the course with an instructor aboard to help guide you through exploring sailing in all directions and practicing recovery of a capsize, so prepare to get wet!
A 2 day course learning and improving your windsurfing skill. This course will give you the basic skills to windsurf on your own. Be prepared to get very wet learning board balance, turning and sailing in all directions! RYA Stage 1 - This will give you the basic skills to get sailing on a board. The course will cover getting on a board to sailing across the wind with plenty of time on and in the water!
We have reviewed the Saturday jays and found that more needed to be done to encourage and develop our young sailors who are the future of our club. Following discussion with parents last year, and to ensure we can keep the same staff every week, we are moving the junior training to a Wednesday evening and rebranding as our onboard club.
