Services
Cransley sailing club is located in an idyllic valley just a few minutes from Kettering, off the A14 in Northamptonshire. The 40 acre reservoir is in a peaceful location with an abundance of wild life. We pride ourselves on being a small friendly club and have a large number of family members. We also have an increasing number of youth members who have been introduced to sailing through our training group.
As a member of Cransley Sailing Club, you are remarkably lucky and privileged to have access to this majestic natural ecosystem and be part of the limited member SUP section of the club. The weather conditions must be assessed before going afloat. If a thunder and lightening storm is imminent SUP members must not go afloat.
The sailing and racing of model yachts at Cransley Sailing Club was a fledgling venture which started in 2012. We hope, with time the model sailors membership will grow and expand the use of the water. The principles involved in model yacht sailing are basically the same as those in any other form of sailing and the rules to racing the yachts follow very closely those of the full size boats.
Cransley Reservoir was constructed in the 1880's to provide water for Kettering and Cransley furnaces. It has been providing clean water for Kettering and Desborough for over 125 years. Cransley reservoir is a haven for wildlife and boasts a wide selection of natural habitats from forestry areas to marshlands perfect for a diverse mix of trees, flowers, birds, animals and insects.
We do offer members the option to pay by 12 monthly instalments. However if you decide to pay by this method you cannot cancel your direct debit should you decide to leave the club until 12 payments have been made and your annual membership is paid in full. Children must be under the age of 25 and be in full time education otherwise they must take out an adult membership.
