Services
Grafham Water Sailing Club has been running for more than fifty years and has about 1,000 members using almost 600 boats. The club employs professional safety and office staff but, essentially, we are run by members and becoming a member means that you are willing to become involved in club activities and to contribute your time and expertise in helping your club to function.
Grafham Water Sailing Club is committed to safeguarding, from physical, sexual or emotional harm, neglect or bullying, everyone taking part in its activities. We recognise that the safety, welfare and needs of all are paramount and that all persons, irrespective of age, disability, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual or gender identity or social status, have a right to protection from discrimination and abuse.
Volunteering by members is a critical and essential part of running the Club and its activities. Following consultation with and feedback from members, Council implemented plans to amend the volunteering and duty process necessary to support the Club's activities. Overall, the changes have been positive and are working well, but Council continually monitors volunteering at the club and introduces adjustments as needed.
The Clubhouse has a bar and a large, comfortable lounge on the third floor (the 'Top Deck') with unrivalled views of the lake. This area is open to members and open meeting visitors at weekends, on summer Wednesdays and at other times when demand justifies it.
Cafe-style catering is provided in the ground-floor cafeteria area by our catering franchise (Viking Catering) on Saturdays and Sundays, and on Wednesday evenings in summer they serve a meal upstairs after racing. You may watch activities on the water, while enjoying fresh food and beverages under cover or - if the weather is clement - from the adjacent patio / picnic area.

We paid for a days sailing here during the latest weekend that there was a windsurfer regatta going on. We were welcomed by the receptionist and she let us know where the changing facilities were. The charge for sailing on the Friday was £40 and if we wanted to sail on the Saturday would have been another £47. We were told to rig and park yo by one of the many slipways leading to the lake itself.
After rigging our boat we used the changing rooms to change into our gear which were very spacious. We found fellow sailors very friendly and we certainly felt safe on the water with many rescue boats

It all depends what you are looking for.
If you are an experienced sailor looking for a large expanse of water and well run races. It is excellent. There are courses so you can come and learn to sail. If you are looking for a family friendly club with other children around then try a different club.
