I would like to take the opportunity on behalf of the Pupils, Staff, Governors and everyone in the Woodlawn Primary family to welcome you to our official school website. We have refreshed this new site in order to share with you all the essential information and fantastic opportunities our children are involved with.

We hope this will give you some insight into the everyday life of our wonderful pupils, staff and exciting moments that occur within our school. Our school vision statement is to develop "Firm Foundations for Future Excellence." This means that we plan and create opportunities for our pupils to experience and embed all types of knowledge and life skills that will give them the personal capabilities needed to flourish in later life.
Services
Following public consultation, the Department of Education and the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety have published their joint Food in Schools policy. The document articulates the Departments' policy in relation to all food in schools, support available, roles, responsibilities and funding.
If not handled properly, fireworks can cause burn and eye injuries in kids and adults. The best way to protect your family is not to use any fireworks at home - period. Attend public fireworks displays, and leave the lighting to the professionals. If a child is injured by fireworks, immediately go to a doctor or hospital.
At Woodlawn Primary school, we truly believe that language and communication are life skills which need to be nurtured and developed from the moment children walk through our doors. Our overall aim for Literacy is to support children with their reading and writing development during their years with us so they are equipped with skills to take beyond their Primary School years.
Mathematics is all around us. From counting the beats in a pattern of music to identifying the number of goals scored in a sports match. We use Mathematics to help us measure what ingredients we need for a cake or what time to finish our games before tea. We use Maths to look at and make sense of the world in which we live, to find the answers to problems that arise in everyday life, and to give us the power to predict.
Teach ICT to equip children to participate in a rapidly changing world where work and leisure activities are increasingly transformed by technology. Focus on developing the skills necessary for children to be able to use information in a discriminating and effective way. Through this website you are able to link to other websites which are not under the control of Woodlawn Primary School.
