We are a contemporary eating and drinking venue, providing the highest standards in home cooked food. We turned up without having a booking, the manager managed to squeeze us in and we had one of the best Sunday Lunch's I've eaten for a long time! The gravy was to die for! Fabulous, the food first class . Sunday lunch the best in town. The host was a very friendly person who had attention to detail down as priority. We all had a lovely Sunday lunch from my mother in law ordering a child's lamb dinner, which was ample. I had the beef, which just melted in your mouth. The gravy to die for. All the vegetables , mash and roast potatoes served with a lovely Yorkshire pudding. The meal was unbeatable. My husband had a trio of meats also exceptional. What a way to spend Sunday. The Midway is very popular and you can see why, would advisor to book in advance to save disappointment

Lacks any kind of atmosphere. Quality of food above average, but nothing to write home about. No wine list, which says everything about the quality you can expect there, pub wine usually sold by the glass.
Its biggest plus is, that being in Stockport it has no competition. Or maybe that's why it doesn't have to try to improve.
Bottom line NOT value for money.

Organised a surprise baby shower here and it took place today. From the first call to arrange and right up until the end of the party I can not fault the staff, the room, the food or absolutely anything, it really was amazing start to finish. The staff could not be anymore helpful and every one of them made the guests feel welcome and nothing to much trouble. The room was just right and the food was gorgeous. Thank you so much for everything you did that made the day go that little bit better! 5 stars really isn't enough.

Had a beautiful meal today. Not for the first time at the Midway, however it’s my first review posting. My Husband had the trio of roast meats Sunday lunch, my Daughter had the large fish and chips , I had the Sea Bass with seafood risotto. Lots of tender roast meat on the Sunday lunch with great roast potatoes. If you adore a Sunday lunch then this is the place to definitely enjoy one. The fish and chips WOW TRY THIS ITS A MUST. The twice cooked chips were perfect fluffy middle and crispy outer. My Sea Bass and seafood risotto was absolutely delicious so very tasty full of beautifully cooked

Very friendly, helpful staff. We hadn't booked (Saturday lunch) but turned up with my father in a wheelchair. All no problem. Everything nice and clean, tasteful decor.
Food was very tasty. Hubby and father both had the small fish and chips which was very generous and very good, I tried the chips! Very tasty 😉 I had the goat's cheese tart starter as a main with an extra side salad, delicious.
I had read a review which mentioned the tasty Eton mess and I saved space to have that. I shared it with my father and it was amazing ☺️

Took my dad for lunch today been here several times before and the food is even better than i remember it was last time, very fresh & tasty, attentive staff & great if you have any allergies/food intolerences as they ask when you order - also was asked if i wanted additional sauces and was brought the requested sauces i asked for (BBQ & Sour Cream) without a problem - good selection of real ales - great parking / good location also

Its has a lot of good beers and wines it not cheap for drinks. It has 3 hand pumps and normally has something interesting on.
Inside it is lovely and the food is very good. If you don't fancy something how it is on the menu just ask. My Dad always gets his steak with gravy and a Yorkshire pud instead of peppercorn sauce and onion rings. Children are welcome too. Its a good place to know about if your planning a pub crawl in Stockport, a nice pub that does food.
