The Kings Arms
The Kings Arms was first licensed in 1807 which marked a time where Bloom Street was lined with multiple shops, houses and other beer houses. Intriguingly, the original Kings Arms stood on a plot on the opposite side of the road that is now currently a car park. Lucy Davis (1848-1924) was landlady from 1883 at the current location on Bloom Street.

The Pub had a dance hall upstairs and also rent out rooms by the hour. Madam Lucy had lots of ladies working for her and the Kings arms was the place to visit after a long day in the factory. For over a century, the three main buildings on Bloom Street were the Corporation gas offices, Salford House and The Kings Arms.

The pub quiz here on a Wednesday night was great! Only £1 per person to enter and it wasn’t one of those ridiculously hard quizzes where you feel totally out of your depth. It had something for everyone. We’re hoping to make it a weekly thing! Also so many dogs inside the pub!! It was great.

Tried to go in for a New Year’s Eve drink…. Nobody was there. The girl in the checkered brown coat on the door with dark hair was so so rude it was unbelievable.

The drive from Clifton was idyllic, plenty of parking. A good selection of drinks with many meal deals of quality food, served by a great bunch of staff. Served in a timely manner. Efficient service. Very good prices.

Great pub with very friendly staff. I was at a private function held in the theatre space upstairs and we were really well looked after and there was a decent range of beers, food was great and they had some nice cocktails too.

Really friendly pub, with a surprisingly charming and intimate theatre space upstairs. Staff were very friendly and the beer was good. Plenty of space to meet friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended. One of Salford's many hidden gems.

A really good selection of beers on offer here and without costing the earth either. It's not a disservice to call this a no-frills venue, what it does, it does well- good beer at low prices. The bar staff are friendly and they seem to have a good variety of entertainment on. Food is not served at the bar during the week, but they offer a roast on Sundays.

Good small cozy theater for local theater projects! Went for a play here and would like to go back for more. However bar staff could be better with customer service. Felt like they didn't care about the orders and they were too busy talking to their friends. Bathrooms are horrible.

Great traditional pub with a good range of drinks. Friendly staff & a warm atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit for a couple beers. I've not been in while the live music has been on but can imagine this would be a brilliant venue. I will be calling in again very soon.
