The Rope & Anchor
Whether you are just popping in for a quick drink or have time on your hands to while away in our beautiful beer garden or comfortable lounge and dining areas, we look forward to seeing you. Set in leafy Dunham village, we're the perfect place to stop by for a relaxing pint and a beautifully cooked meal.

Our beer garden is idyllic when the sun's shining and our bar and restaurant is the place to cosy up on cooler days. We serve great food and have delicious menu options to suit all occasions, whether it be a quick snack or a leisurely meal. We offer pub classics, often with a twist, as well as scrumptious daily specials.
Services
Our menu features fantastic freshly prepared dishes perfect for Spring & Summer with pub favourites including our Brewery Tower Burger, MPA battered fish & chips and our legendary cheese pie. With a beautiful beer garden for al fresco dining in the sun and comfortable indoor dining areas for cooler evenings, you can choose where to enjoy your lunch, dinner or nibbles.
We serve a great pint of cask ale and being owned by a brewery means we serve the best in the area including JW Lees Bitter and MPA, and not forgetting our refreshing Manchester Craft Lager, perfect for sipping in the sun with friends & family. We're also good at serving up a delicious G&T or a glass of fizz, and we've recently added some more special wines to our growing list, perfect for sipping in the sun or accompanying a fantastic meal.
Located in Dunham Massey, close to Bowdon, Hale and Altrincham, we've got the perfect spaces for you to celebrate your event. Choose from The Barn which is an intimate space tucked away outside. The surrounding gardens create a private atmosphere and has a unique aesthetic which is irresistibly photogenic, or there's an Upstairs at The Rope complete with a private bar for your private party.
Nestled deep in the heart of the Trans Pennine Trail, the Rope and Anchor is the perfect spot to stop and take heed. The Trans Pennine Trail is an exciting route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders linking the North and Irish seas, passing through the Pennines, alongside rivers and canals and through some of the most historic towns and cities in the North of England.
