David Wilson Optometrists is Teddington's newest independent opticians. It is a family run practice with David being joined by his daughter, Rhianna. At David Wilson Optometrists we pride ourselves on the level of care we strive to achieve for all our patients. We want your journey from the first phone call and onwards to be enjoyable and fulfilling.
The most important part of visiting the Opticians is your time with the Optometrist and having a thorough eye examination. Our eye examinations usually require 30 minutes or more so please allow for enough time. Many of us know that having regular eye examinations is essential to check the health of our eyes and optimise your visual potential.
Most adults wear sunglasses on bright, sunny days but how often do you see children wearing them? When in fact it is just as important to protect children's eyes, if not more! Our eyes are 10 times more sensitive to UV than our skin and childrens eyes are at the greatest risk of UV damage. With larger pupils and clearer lenses it means up to 70 per cent more UV light reaches the retina than in an adults eye.
Having good vision is critical for a child's functional, educational and social development. A child's visual system develops over the first few years of their life. Identifying eye conditions early is key and produces a better outcome. We recommend a child with no concerns to have their first eye examination at three years old.

I really can't praise David and Rhianna highly enough. The thoroughness of my glasses and contact lens examinations were far beyond what I have had with previous opticians. Throughout David put me at ease and nothing was rushed - it really was the best experience I have ever had at an Optometrist. Choosing new glasses was a joy and Rhianna was fully onboard with helping me to choose the right glasses for me. My glasses and contact lenses arrived in less than a week. I am new to Teddington and was worried about choosing a new opticians but I can't recommend David Wilson Optometrists highly enough

I had a wonderful experience on my first visit last week, and most unexpected! David's Practice does not operate like a sausage factory as some opticians....it was great to feel a sense of humanity, so lacking these days with companies. His humour and warmth, along with his professional expertise, are very valuable assets. A truly friendly and reliable family business.

Absolutely brilliant service, very professional, surpassed our expectations by far. The eye assessment conducted by David for my daughter was spot on, she can see so much clear now and we were using Kingston hospital doctors before. David took time to listen and made my daughter feel at ease. Rhianna is most definitely the best glasses adviser we ever came accross, she was incredibly helpful, bringing one case full of glasses after another to make sure my daughter has enough to choose from! 😃 She has excellent taste and the selection of glasses to choose from is great. Had a great time today David is amazing and so kind he really listens to what you do and what your symptoms are which helps massively. He definitely made me feel comfortable and lots of jokes along the way to ease my nerves! Thank you for your time and patience!
