Broom Mill Farm have been announced runners-up in the 2019 YAS TYE Trophy. The judges were very impressed with our farm, the conservation we have already undertook, along with plans for the future. Chief Executive, Nigel Pulling, said, "The aim of the Trophy is to promote conservation with a commercial farming environment your farm is an excellent example."
In 1989 Matthew and Tracy Betney moved to Broom Mill Farm with the intention of developing the farm - and didn't they do that! Since then they have built a Farm Shop, Tearoom, Bakery, developed their own range of delicious deli goods, and all the while maintaining the Broom Mill Farm ethos of providing customers with traditionally prepared cuts of meat and meat products, second to none in taste and quality.

I called in for the first time today to give it a go and this is my honest opinion on first arrival it was great atmosphere standard of hygiene was exceptional great customer service . I purchased a 1.5 kg cut of top side for£15 with is very cheap for what your getting and I can honestly say it was the best tasting and most tender meat I have ever eaten I wouldn't recommend enough I will definitely be buying all my meat from there from now on. I encourage others to do the same as it will support a local farm who deserve the support more than a super market as there quality and care of the animal

Service was good ,
However the full English breakfast arrived with cold beans, undercooked mushrooms and brown toast that wasn't toasted, more like dry bread.
Poached eggs on white toast! Eggs were ok but plonked on very lightly toasted white bread were disappointing . For a premium price presentation is key.
2nd full English was left for being much too greasy.
Will we return , no
A disappointing experience

We popped into Broom Mill farm shop for a bite to eat, while on route to Hexham.
We simply saw the sign on the mini roundabout and swung off at that exit.
And we are glad we did. The restaurant cafe is a newly built, large high ceiling construction, well laid out, clean and competently staffed.
The menu is very appealing with something for everyone. Alot of it is their own or at least locally produced.
Myself and my daughter had the twenty eight day steakburger, bacon and cheese, with homemade chunky chips, salad and coleslaw.
My wife punted for the Turkey & stuffing hot sandwich with gravy

Called in today for a takeaway sandwich, as was passing and I thought it would beat a service station! Probably one of my better decisions! The sandwich was delicious, cut ham and fresh bread with pickle. The cafe/shop was very clean and the staff are very friendly. I’m currently sat enjoying the carrot cake (also takeaway) with a brew, wondering when I can next get back there!

The cafe is roomy and airy. Food was beautiful and honestly the best steak and ale pie I have ever had. The staff really lovely friendly and pleasant. Especially the dark haired waiter who took our order and the other waiter that served us. We will definitely be back for the food, but equally the service!
