Services
Monkstone Holiday Cottages nestle on the hillside below the famous 13th Century Brentor Church, one of Devon's most distinctive landmarks. Both self-catering cottages are finished to a high standard throughout, are dog friendly and have level access and off road parking. Monkstone Cottage is a delightful Devon barn conversion.
Jeanette and Roger have Millie, a Border terrier, and are well aware of the frustrations of taking dogs on holiday. We like your dogs to enjoy their holiday as much as you do. Our holiday cottages are dog friendly with enclosed gardens, a meadow for exercising dogs and moorland walks straight out from the cottage.
Monkstone lies on the edge of Dartmoor National Park with access to miles of open moorland for walking, hiking and riding. Lydford Gorge, the deepest river gorge in the South West, with the spectacular White Lady Waterfall is a 5 minute drive away. Monkstone is on the Route 27 Cycle way and nearby trails offer miles of traffic free cycling.

Wonderful, well appointed barn conversion. Welcomed with a cream tea and made to feel welcome straight away. We spent a week just relaxing and getting rid of these vivid blues. Thank yo so much for letting the public use this wonderful, tranquil piece of paradise.

So lucky to have been able to stay between the different lockdowns. Cream tea on arrival, a Christmas tree, fluffy white towels and complete peace. Jeannette and her husband are perfect hosts too - welcoming, friendly and helpful. This was my 2nd stay and I can't wait to go back next year.

We love this cottage and have been back lots of times. It's perfectly situated with Dartmoor and both North and South coasts in easy reach so we always find new things to do each time we visit. The best bit is coming back to the peace and quiet after a day out. We can highly recommend and look forward to our next visit.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. We stayed in the cottage for a mini summer holiday with our little terrier, and it was the perfect getaway. The cottage itself was immaculate and is beautifully decorated. The kitchen has everything you need and the bed was extremely comfy. The views are stunning - surrounded by fields and nature with the sounds of birds. Great location with local countryside walks on your doorstep and it is only a short drive to both Tavistock and Lydford. We would certainly love to stay here again and highly recommend it.

Honeysuckle Cottage - perfect as a base for exploring Dartmoor and further afield; so much to do locally as well. Jeanette and Roger are lovely hosts. The cottage is cosy, homely and has it's own large, private garden backing onto fields. No faults or niggles whatsoever - we just wish we could have stayed longer!

One of the best cottages we've stayed at on Dartmoor; and I certainly can't think of another one with a tor on the doorstep! Would love to have stayed longer, hope to be back soon :)
