I've travelled to all corners of the globe on business and pleasure, staying in accommodation ranging from swish hotels in Singapore to treehouses in Sumatra. And for decades, I've dreamed of taking the best of what I've experienced and creating my own haven for holidaymakers, using my background in corporate hospitality and interior design.
Warm hospitality, inviting interiors and the personal touch are what make a stay special for me, and what you'll continue to find at Harrabeer Country House. There's been a dwelling of some kind on the site of Harrabeer House since before the Domesday Book, according to local records. The name Harrabeer means 'wood of the hares' in Old English which was spoken between around 450-1100.

The Harrabeer Country House Hotel is in an absolutely wonderful location and the hotel itself can only be described as a credit to the lovely new owner Nicky and the obvious effort she’s putting into her new venture.
There was absolutely nothing too much trouble for her - and her breakfasts were really exceptional- I’m not the easiest person to cook for being almost vegetarian but she wasn’t fazed at all and my food was fantastic.
Nicky was a little apologetic about the room (she said it’s going to be updated soon) but she needn’t have worried - it was fine! The en-suite was massive

We have just had our first stay under the new management of the lovely Nicky. She was bubbly, thoughtful and did everything she could to make our stay comfortable. Her thoughtfulness was evident in multiple areas - the special on the breakfast menu, her offer of tea and biscuits on arrival and her service at breakfast. We have booked for a few weeks from now and are looking forward to our next stay!

I was in a complete pickle in Plymouth, my booked accommodation was disgusting and not as described so I was left scrabbling about on a Monday calling every hotel to be told 'no room at the inn'. I called Harrabeer and had just the warmest greeting and offered me a bed for that night and the next. When I arrived (after temp check and hand sanitiser) the welcome was akin to a hug (of course no actual hugging took place). The warmth of these people just made me feel so much happier. It is a cosy, well run, beautiful place. The hosting is second to none. The bedroom and en suite were immaculate and

A very beautiful country house with excellent food, Michael and Amanda are the perfect hosts, welcoming, entertaining and kind. Nothing is too much trouble.
We stayed in the upper half of their barn, could not fault anything, very comfortable, the photo's do not do it justice.
You will not be disappointed.

Very friendly owners. I really got the feeling they love running their hotel and making their guests feel at home and feel special. The food tastes excellent and the room was very nice. It is also situated very nicely. In a little town with facilities and great to explore national park Dartmoor. We really recommend this hotel to stay. It was lovely!
