Lawrence Hill Health Centre
If you feel the problem is urgent and needs dealing with that day the receptionist will ask you a few questions to help us arrange the most appropriate course of action, this may then result in a doctor phoning you back. Walk in appointments are available, come down to the health centre at 8am and you will be offered an appointment from 8.30am.

Routine appointments are available to be booked online, by phone and in person up to 3 weeks in advance. If you feel your problem or query can be dealt with by phone, doctor, nurse and treatment room telephone appointments are available. Please note medication requests and sick notes can not be sorted in this way.
Services
Lawrence Hill Health Centre is a friendly thriving practice near the centre of Bristol. We provide a personal, inclusive, family friendly service to the diverse community around us. We have a motivated team who work together to provide the best care to all our patients, providing an accessible service to all.
You may speak to whichever doctor you prefer, but it is normally best to speak to the same doctor for on going problems as this helps continuity and avoids you having to tell your story several times to different people. Working within our current staffing capacity we are doing our best to ensure that you have access to additional appointments outside of these hours.
OnlineVisit our Online Services. When the doctor puts you on a medication that you need to take for a prolonged period you will be given your medication, together with a paper slip enabling you to re-order your medication without seeing the doctor. The doctor will decide how many repeats of your medication they would like you to have before reviewing you again in clinic.
We are changing the way we do things at Lawrence Hill Health Centre. As part of our commitment to high quality care and to helping you to improve your health, the practice invites certain groups of patients in for an annual review of their condition and medication.

We invite patients by text message (or by letter if you do not have a mobile telephone) on or around their birthday month, to book an appointment to attend one of our nurse led clinics. For most conditions we will require you to attend for blood tests, weight and other investigations before being invited to book into a group consultation or an appointment with the practice nurse or pharmacist.
3Please remember to bring with you two forms of ID, one proof of identity (photographic ID) and one proof of address. If you are homeless within our practice boundary you can register with us or we can refer you to the homeless health service located in the compass centre in Jamaica Street in Bristol.

Went for a medical appointment, credit to nurses and doctors doing a fantastic job while being caring.
Receptionist was pretty indifferent and abnoxious . Sadly a common scene lately everywhere in medical places.

If you manage to actually get through to someone, it’s likely to be a rude young woman who is most awkward and unhelpful. Impossible to get an appointment with GP even after surgery. Terrible Place

The receptionists are total put off there is no getting through to them and they are very rude with no manners. There is always problems with them. This time They didnt let me book appointment to remove implant because it's ruining my life , identity and mental health. I can't even look myself in the mirror anymore because I don't recognise the person staring bk a me and I do not like her one bit . I could kill her.
I have never liked this surgery. They have also lied to me about the help they are doing

Worst gp ever!!!! I have been suffering from a chest infection and shortness of breath since December and this issue has lasted for over 3 months now, every time I try to contact my gp I get no where because they are all scared of COVID and they attempt to diagnose me over the phone which is extremely ridiculous. My shortness of breath has gotten worse, I tried to seek private care and when I asked my gp for a referral letter they didn’t even bother to send it.
Worse gp ever, i highly recommend avoiding them unless you’re into terrible service.

Very good doctors. Dr Coles has been a lifeline for me over the years, and Dr Darke and Dr Barber are always there at hand if I need them.
The receptionists are helpful and friendly and do their best to get me in touch with someone as soon as possible.

One of the very best doctors surgeries I've ever registered at. Doctors could never do enough and never rushed you out even if they was running late and you had loads of things wrong with you. I would recommend to everyone and gutted I had to register else where even though I tried staying there it became impractical as I moved miles away. Thanks to all the doctors and nurses very much there and even the receptionist was good.
