Services
Our journey to become Galedin Vets began over 100 years ago. In 1817, Robert Glaister was invited and paid 50 guineas by the Border Union Agricultural society to move his practice from Wooler in Northumberland, to Kelso. This practice changed hands and more buildings were developed, until eventually the practices became part of the Merlin Veterinary Group.
Your pet is a part of your family, so you want to know that they are always healthy and happy. By bringing your pet to Galedin Vets, you are putting your companion's care in responsible, experienced hands. Our team of vets have a wealth of knowledge in looking after all pets and pride themselves on their expert level of care.
Our team of farm vets are dedicated to helping you face the challenges of modern farming, alongside keeping your animals in good health. Get your horse looked after by the equine experts who are trusted by Olympic equestrian teams. Having a horse is a huge, life-long commitment. Whatever your horse's purpose, how they perform depends on how healthy they are. Our team of equine experts have the experience and knowledge to ensure your horse receives top-quality care, so that they can perform at their best.
Here at Galedin, we know that whether the animal you look after is feathered or shelled, furry or scaly, they still hold a special place in your heart. Our ethos is to provide care for all animals that are brought to us. This means that if you have a less common pet, they will still receive excellent treatment from our experienced vets.

I used this vet in the past for both my dog and cat. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the prices are fair.

Positive: Professionalism, Responsiveness
I have nothing but praise for this practice especially Vicky and Jennifer. They looked after Rowan so wonderfully when I thought we may lose him.

We had to say goodbye to our beautiful boy Murphy on 18th December. He was 15 & he came to us as a rescue dog when he was 2. A wonderful companion. He became so ill however we just had to let him go. The young lady vet was so kind & compassionate to us & Murphy. I will always be grateful to her that my wonderful dog had such a peaceful & dignified passing. A lovely young lady & a credit to your business.🐕❤️
