Gordon Vets is a long established (1834) veterinary practice. Our Edinburgh and Lothians vet practices are based in Musselburgh, Bonnyrigg and Penicuik. We know how much you love your pets and we are dedicated to looking after their health and care when your pets are unwell. We enjoy getting to know you and your pets and provide a friendly and caring service ensuring your pets receive the best healthcare possible at all times.
We are fortunate to have a very loyal and happy team of staff who treat the animals under their care as if they were their own. Assisting the vets are our fully qualified and registered veterinary nurses and some trainee nurses. We aim to ensure that whatever the reason may be, you and your pet's visit to our surgeries will be as stress free and as pleasant as possible.

Services
Gordon Vets' extensive range of vet services enable us to keep your pets in good health and treat them if they become unwell or are injured. Our friendly Lothian vets services are provided to customers in East and South Edinburgh area by our local vet practices in Musselburgh, Bonnyrigg and Penicuik.
Should you require immediate veterinary attention outside our normal opening hours please phone:. Please note this is an emergency service only and routine enquiries can be dealt with normal surgery hours. Our out of hours emergency service is provided by our own vets at the Musselburgh clinic until 11:00pm.
We believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!
Pet insurance provides cover for veterinary fees in the event that your pet becomes injured or unwell. It can provide peace of mind that you're in a position to afford all the veterinary care your pet may need. With veterinary medicine employing expensive medical techniques and medication, and with pet owners caring more and more about their pets' health, pet insurance is becoming increasingly popular.
If your insurer asks you to complete your claim online, what we need from you will be greatly simplified. Please note the process may differ between insurers. Attach the clinical history, along with a copy of any payments you've made (you do not have to keep any receipts). Please note the processing of direct claims is discretionary and based on the relationship between the insurer and the clinic.

I have used a lot of vet's in 56 years of having pet's. I have now been with gordon's for 13 years and would not go anywhere else. Gardons is bye far one of the best vets I have ever used always put your pets first very understanding vet's and very professional all there staff are very helpful

I have been with Gordons vet for 26 years , and always would & have recommended,
very personal & professional service through highs and lows , we had our old lady (border collie) living until she was 17years .
when it was time to say goodbye, the team in Bonnyrigg were very supportive, that was 9 years ago and we now visit with our little girl 9years old .
And good to see the same faces on our visits

Gordon’s is a fantastic local vets.
I enjoy going there as I’m always guaranteed a very warm friendly and professional welcome. They’re very caring and empathetic when times are difficult and really seem to love and care about everyone’s pets. I can highly recommend them.

Gordon Vets at Bonnyrigg is a wonderful practice where nothing is too much trouble. You know that they really care about your pet and they will do all they can to make them healthy and happy.
The vets take great care at explaining what is wrong, what can be done to fix your pet and how long it will take.
I would definitely recommend Gordon Vets as THE place to go for total commitment to vet care.

My dog Benji,buster is getting an "old boy" now and we made the dreaded trip to Gordon's Vet in Bonnyrigg. Benji b has become unwell. Helen (Vet) on duty showed great professionalism checking over Benji b as he can become a bit "tetchy". Helen kept him calm and made myself and my husband less anxious. Hopefully with medication given, Benji b can carry on his life comfortably. Thank you Helen.

I have been using Gordon’s Vets for 54 years, to get my dogs examined, operated on or sadly put to sleep. Whatever the reason the visits were always met with professionalism, friendliness, and I think most Important of all compassion.
A pet is not just a pet, it can be a friend, someone to talk to when you’ve. had a bad day,
and in some cases a lifeline.

I used to live across the road from here and it was nice and handy for me. It is a nice clean building, easy access, has a car park. The staff are always friendy and they looked after my guinea pig well when she was having trouble birthing. My daughter used to love how they would call out the pets name and our last name.
A wee bit pricey but it was handy for me. And was always great if I had forgotten to buy pet food from the pet store in an emergency, even though it was more expensive.
