Amanda grew up in Edinburgh and graduated from the university of Edinburgh in 2013. Amanda loves all animals, but has a special interest in cats. Her cat Raool is in the picture! In her spare time she is kept busy performing as part of a musical theatre society and playing netball. Originally from Massachusetts in America, she has lived in Scotland since 2013.
Rachel started working as a trainee veterinary nurse (VN), in 2004 in a mixed practice in Perthshire. She qualified as a VN in 2008 and went on to become a Head Nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, cooking, entertaining friends, and spending time with her family.
Sam started her training as a Veterinary Care Assistant in 2012, moving on to Veterinary Nurse training in 2013, becoming a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse in the summer of 2016.She enjoys medical nursing and getting to know the clients and their pets. In her spare time she enjoys walking her 2 whippets, Rollo and Hannah, fitness classes and spending time with family and friends.

Kirstin started working in a Veterinary practice in 1998 and started her Veterinary Nurse training in 2000, qualifying in 2003. She joined the Animac team at the opening of the Southside practice. She joins us from another vets in Edinburgh where she worked for 16 years and was the Head Nurse. She has a keen interest in radiography and also loves getting to know clients and their furry friends!
We have been clients of Animac for many years, and we will continue to do so - I feel very assured that our pets are and will continually be in the best of care. We trust the judgement and service of care administered by the practice staff-you do feel that your animals are in safe hands. I like the fact you have your own vet who you see every time, then you & your pets can build up a relationship.
As we all know, what we buy both for ourselves and our pets, can have a detrimental effect on the environment around us, with many toys and other accessories using plastics and unrecyclable materials.
With this in mind, we have looked at all the toys and accessories we stock in our practice and are now only routinely stocking environmentally friendly items such as biodegradable, sustainably made food bowls and toys, collars and leads made from recycled plastic bottles and inner bicycle tyre tubes and biodegradable poop-bags.See the separate product tabs for more details.

On Wednesday 10.03 my 18-month-old chihuahua died in this clinic from a very simple tooth extraction procedure. He was put under anaesthesia and stopped breathing before the procedure began. As a person who does not have advanced knowledge but loves his dog, I asked to do all the research possible. I am aware of the risks of anaesthesia, but the risk is small. That's why I asked for all the necessary research. After all, it was the professionals that I thought. The vet talked about testing the blood and organs, including the heart. However, the heart was examined only by hearing !!! How is it possible

Even before I arrived at the vet's the staff had been helpful and very pleasant in helping me arrange back-to-back appointments for my two cats. The consultations with the vet was very helpful and she helped us plan a course of action that was required. I highly recommend the practice - great service, great folks!

They have cared for my dogs from the beginning, and when my dog had puppies and they had a little trouble they were very helpful and didn't mind me calling them constantly to ask questions (first time delivering and raising puppies, I was worried about everything!!) Lovely staff, Sam and Susan are great!

I use Animac for my cat. All the staff are very friendly and helpful whilst always remaining professional and focused. I never have any problem getting an appointment to suit me despite working full time. I registered with them on recommendation from a friend and would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

I've used Animac vets for a for the last couple of years and I've always had good service for my 3 dogs and cat. All the staff are kind, caring and very helpful.
My dog had pups last year and Amanda was looking after us. She went through the whole journey from the scan to the pups first vaccinations. She is very knowledgeable, answered all my questions and gave good advice.
Prices are competitive with other vets.
I would recommend this vet.
Only problem is, it can be difficult to find a parking space sometimes.

Animac Vets have been looking after Riley, our rescue dog, since the day we got him from the Cat & Dog Home over 15 years ago. They've always done a great job whenever we've needed them (including stitching him up when he managed to impale himself through the chest on a tree branch) and are now helping him manage the symptoms of arthritis. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

5* Vet!
Great to have a vet practise local to me and my then (initially) anxious indoor cat. The practise itself has a calm environment and is very clean & welcoming inside.
It was very important for me (as a pet service provider my self) to find a vet that was not only close by (south-side of the city), but essentially to seek a practise that was knowledgeable, caring and compassionate about animals.
My cat returns on a regular basis, he is now a more comfortable and relaxed kitty when visiting. Thanks to the kind and helpful team at Animac!
Cannot recommend highly enough!!
