Hawick Veterinary Practice is staffed by professionals who are passionate about animal wellbeing. Our team of vets, nurses and support staff provide caring, expert veterinary services across the spectrum. We've worked at the heart of the Hawick community since the 1960s but constantly embrace innovations. Our facilities are cutting edge and staff are trained in the latest techniques, but bespoke customer care has always underpinned all that we do.
Services
Our purpose-built practice not only allows us to provide excellent veterinary care but also fulfilled a lifelong dream for our owners. Hawick Veterinary Practice was first established in the 1960s, although at that time it was just a small clinic on the south side of Drumlanrig Square. By the start of the 70s, the practice had expanded so much that new premises were needed, and we moved across the square to the north side.
We have a dedicated team of vets who work at the practice working full and part time. Our practice provides 24/7 veterinary care to all animals, whether a pet, equine or farm animal. Our own vets cover our 'out of office hours' care and take a share in the on-call rota. As a client you will always be able to speak to one of our vets, at any time of day or night, by calling the practice phone number.
Our excellent facilities and expert treatments allow early diagnosis and prompt treatment - giving your pet the best chance of a full recovery. When you choose a vet, you want to be confident that their facilities are well-equipped and support staff expertise - this ensures that convenient in-house treatment is available for as many conditions as possible.
Looking after a pet properly is a big responsibility. You already know that your pet needs regular veterinary check-ups to make sure they're happy and healthy, but you might also occasionally need some more specific advice. Our free clinics are run by our experienced registered nurses, who can provide excellent advice on many issues.
Don't panic - our emergency care service means peace of mind for your animals at any time of day or night. We know that some animal illnesses are impossible to predict and unexpected accidents and injuries can happen at any time. That's why our emergency care service provides expert assistance 24 hours a day.

Even through all the COVID restrictions we were always dealt with professionally and promptly. Our Dogs are known to the staff which is a boon when you are handing over one of your "Children" No matter when any of them are left we know they will be safe and from time to time one of the staff will ring to keep up us to date on proceedings.

We just wanted to say thankyou for your very kind thoughts and the card that you sent us. Thank you for all your help, advice, and expertise over the years we were privileged to have Millie with us. To lose her in this way was far too soon and and our lives and our hearts are in shreds. Where we go from here who knows but you have been the best. Thankyou.
Our best regards Lynn & Pete Tyler

I can't fault our wonderful vet. We rushed back from holiday when Zorro the spaniel was taken seriously ill and saw our actual vet, not an emergency service locum, on a Sunday. Our boy was soon on the mend with scan, antibiotics and painkillers. Susan and the team on the front desk deserve a mention too.

Great vets, we were on holiday in the area when we noticed the dog was coughing and sleeping alot...quick call to the vets and they had us in to check Huby out and diagnosed and treated for kennel cough. Really happy with the vets and the price was not crazy like I've experienced in some other places. Also the staff and the vet we saw were very friendly and helpful
