Services
We began our married life at Field End farm, just a couple of fields away from Shaw End, converting the farm buildings there to eventually provide five barns to let for holidays while running the sheep farm and bringing up three children, a busy but fulfilling time!

Following a fire in the 'big house' in the early 1980s we succeeded in buying Shaw End and its coach house and there began many years of work to restore Shaw End, a grade 2 listed building, to its former state and to convert the coach house to provide four residencies for local families. The mansion was originally built in 1796 by the Shepherd family, wealthy mill owners who could be found to be living at Field End in the early 1600s.
Shaw End's holiday apartments offer luxurious self-catering accommodation for anyone planning a visit to Cumbria's stunning Lake District. Furnished to a very high standard and set in beautiful surroundings Shaw End Mansion is the perfect Lakeland retreat in which to relax, unwind and recharge. Access to all fully self-contained apartments is through the original main entrance and large pine floored hallway.
