The Red House Group comprises three GP surgeries located in South-West Hertfordshire. The practice is based at the Red House Surgery in Radlett, which was founded in 1905. In addition, the practice has two branch surgeries located in nearby villages: Park Street Surgery in Park Street and Gateways Surgery in Shenley.

Together the surgeries provide care for over 20,000 patients, making the practice the largest in the area and one of the largest in Hertfordshire. The Red House Group aims to combine all that is best in traditional General Practice with full engagement in the innovative provision of GP services.
Services
The Red House Group offers a wide range of services to our patients. You will find this at the bottom of every page on our website. As a practice serving an area with one of the highest Jewish populations in the country we are keen to ensure that our Jewish patients are aware of the importance of screening for those inherited diseases more commonly found in the Jewish population.
The telephone lines and reception desk are open on weekdays from 8.30am to 1.30pm and 2.00pm to 6.00pm. Please note that the car park at the Red House is private. There are currently two parking bays provided for disabled patients only. All other parking bays are for doctors and staff only. Please do not park in the car park, as overcrowding can be a serious problem if a doctor needs to leave in an emergency or if an ambulance is required.
We run an appointment system at the Practice. GP appointments are normally scheduled at 10 minute intervals and can be booked up to one month in advance. If you have more than one problem to discuss or need more than 10 minutes, you should request a double appointment (20 minutes). If this cannot be done, the GP may ask you to choose the most important problem to deal with in the time available.
If you need regular medication your GP is likely to authorise this on your records as a repeat prescription. This allows you to request further medication on a regular basis without having to see your GP each time. When you need more medication you should make a repeat prescription request. We will then produce a new prescription for you which your GP will sign.
If you support someone who could not manage without you, you are a carer. The person you look after might be a relative, friend or neighbour who is ill, frail, disabled, has mental health problems, or misuses drugs or alcohol. As a carer, you need to look after your own health and wellbeing too. We work closely with a local charity called Carers in Hertfordshire to identify carers and provide them with free help and support.

Been a patient at the gateways surgery for nearly 5 years. Very difficult to get an appointment. Recent blood tests showed issues and Dr just recommended repeat in 3-4 months despite having explained having symptoms of something potentially serious and family history of issues. Seems not to be taken seriously at all.

As a new patient to the practice I was very impressed by the punctuality and service I have received. I was please with Nurse Komal who put me at ease, and took the time to send me further information about what she had explained during the appointment. Thank you!

I can not fault the service received at the Shenley surgery yesterday for my wife.
The receptionist, was helpful and managed to get a face to face appointment the same afternoon.

Have had a connection with the practice for over 35 years now and the administrative staff are appalling. It's been common knowledge for years and it's even in the Patients Group minutes on multiple occasions. They simply don't care about people here or treat them with any modicum of respect. There is also a non-transparent and opaque complaints process where staff go out of their way to make a complaint possible

Myself and my family have been registered with the Red House Surgery (for over 20 years). On the whole most of the staff are extremely professional, courteous and committed to their work which in itself deserves 5 out of 5 in this review.
However, the reason why I gave 1 out of 5 is because there is one female reception member of staff at the Surgery, who is rude discourteous and completely unprofessional and it’s an unlucky lottery if she picks up the phone when you call & unfortunately I spoke to her today. As reception staff are frontline to initially deal with the patient and their families

Having to cancel our entire trip out the country due to complete incompetence by this surgery. Got our first doses in Australia, and need them put on our NHS record to travel. Sent on June 22. Never heard back. Keep calling and getting told ‘we don’t know when’. Ridiculous. There seems to be no care at reception for others well-being, nor compassion, or organisation. Super frustrating.

Working in the health care industry must come with the pledge, a solemn promise, to be helpful and caring to those in need.
I find that, starting with the receptionists, this couldn't be further from expectation. They are rude, abrupt and dishonest. This attitude is disconcerting.
I will be transferring out asap.
It's sad to review a GP service like this. They need a complete change of staff. And I feel for any one who endures the constant issues faced by them.

Without doubt, this surgery exceeds all expectations. All the more amazing considering the pressure staff are under during a pandemic. Carla a GP, is astonishingly good, an angel walking among us. She is professional, while being approachable and oozes empathy, far more than I could have imagine. I moved to this surgery, dissatisfied with a GP more local to me, I will certainly continue to use Red House Surgery.

Some of the most rude, patronising and condescending receptionists I've ever come across at a GP surgery.
Couple of great GPs, but good luck getting an appointment inside the same week, or two...and that usually requires several attempts at phoning, as the receptionists have a habit of just hanging up incoming calls.
Surgery seems poorly managed overall, and not set up for the number of patients they have to serve in the local area.

My doctor here is an absolute legend! Really the best GP I've ever had. The nurse is lovely too.
However the reception staff can be the most obtuse, difficult women you'd ever have the misfortune of having to deal with. One of them is good and helpful however I've had some terrible experiences with one or two more. Refusing to do something that a consultant had requested which ended up wasting a whole consultants appointment, not making an emergency appointment to the point an ambulance crew were called and then suddenly there was one free at 4 o'clock. Such as shame.
