The practice began in 1972 by the amalgamation of 3 single handed practices. It was situated in a house in the Millway until 1998 when it moved to the current 3 storey modern building on Hartley Avenue which it shares with community staff of Barnet Primary Care Trust who occupy most of the 2nd floor.
We are a group practice of nine partners covering 18,500 patients. We are committed to providing comprehensive, high quality medical care through an efficient friendly practice team. Services
There is a 'Pay & Display' Car Park at the Practice managed by Euro Car Parks Ltd. with whom any queries should be raised. Parking in the car park is entirely at patients' risk. Disabled badge holders can park in the designated disabled bays for free when they visit the surgery. Please show your disabled badge to the receptionists on the ground floor so you can be registered.
There are many services available to help you to stay healthy. Some of these services can be accessed directly (see below), and for others you need to be registered with a GP Practice (Surgery). When you wish to consult a GP about your medical condition, you need to contact the Surgery with which you are registered to arrange to be seen.
Millway Medical Practice is approved by Health Education England (HEE) to be a Training practice with certain GPs approved to be trainers. This means we have a variety of learners at the practice seeing patients under the supervision of an experienced GP. GP Specialist Registrar (SpR): This is a fully qualified doctor who has completed their foundation training in hospital and are now specialising in General Practice.
The buddy system consists of 3 groups of doctors; each team looks after the patients within that group if one of the members is absent for example during annual leave. Every patient has a usual GP or has been allocated a named GP. The buddy system is based on who the usual GP is and which team they belong to.
Practice Nurses are fully trained in a wide range of skills including immunisations, health promotion, contraception and management of long-term conditions e.g. Our Practice Nurses Gail Nolan, Barbara Fletcher, Claire Yager, Ekene Taylor and Emily Timbrell run their own surgeries for practical nursing procedures and chronic diseases such as Asthma, COPD and Hypertension (see Our Clinics for the full list).

I love the online eConsult, very helpful Doctors and very fast response time. I would definitely chose eConsult over making face to face appointments. It is quicker, safer in these Covid times and for patients with spinal injuries like me that struggle to stand or sit down in waiting areas and reception it means no extra pain and aniexty. Telephone queries are always dealt with quickly and professionally too. Brilliant practice and highly recommend!

My parents have been with the practise for just over 10 years. The front office staff are wonderful; efficient, friendly, professional and extremely helpful! As a family we can’t thank the entire staff of the surgery enough for all the support they have provided and continue to provide.
Dr. Keval Patel has really been a blessing for my parents. He’s extremely patient, takes the time to listen to their concerns and his diagnosis is always spot on! Furthermore, he’s timely at initiating referrals.
Thank you to the entire team at Millway Medical. I would highly recommend this surgery!!

All my previous GP practises were good, but I must say Mill Way has by far been the best. I never felt as safe, important and a valued patient as I do with this practice. I can honestly say, that if all GPs were like Mill Way Medical Practice, no one would be neglected or misdiagnosed. I truly feel blessed being their patient.

Always happy with the surgery as a whole, but so happy they've opened up as a vaccination centre. Smoothest run yet! No queue, no delay, actual doctors working outside on a Sunday in the freezing cold to make sure we were well looked after and could ask questions. So lucky to have our NHS. So lucky to have Millway.

I am very impressed with this practice. The staff and doctors are very pleasant and professional. The e-consult service is such a good alternative to in house consultation and works very well. Special thanks to Dr Dattani and Dr Peter. Thank you all for your good work especially during these hard times. I would confidently recommend this practice.

I have been very impressed with the practice. On two separate occasions lately, the receptionists and the GP attended to my needs very efficiently and quickly. I am especially grateful for the help I received last week during an acute migraine attack - I was able to get my medication from the pharmacy within 20 minutes of calling the surgery. On several other occasions, they were equally helpful and speedy. Highly recommend.
