Services
A large number of appointments are now available to book on-line using On-line Access. Routine 10 minute appointments can be booked with the doctor of your choice on the previous day for morning appointments, or up to a month in advance for evening appointments. Please tell the Receptionist if you feel you need an Urgent Appointment.
This practice is part of a network of local GP surgeries which are working towards making GP appointments available from 8.00am to 8.00pm for Barnet residents. The name of your local network is Barnet Federated GPs and they have arranged eight Hub Practices in Barnet where appointments are available to be seen by a local GP in evenings and weekends.
A Medical Certificate is not required for the first seven days of an illness (including a weekend). If a signed certificate is requested to cover this period, then a private certificate can be issued by the doctor but there will be a charge. After the first week, a Med3 medical certificate may be obtained as part of the consultation with the doctor.
NHS 111 is the new three-digit telephone service that has been introduced to improve access to NHS urgent care services. Patients can use this number when they need medical help or advice and it's not urgent enough to call 999. NHS 111 operates 24/7, 365 days per year and is free to use from a landline and a mobile.
Patients who are taking regular medication can take advantage of our computerised Repeat Prescription system. The system is designed to make it more convenient for patients to obtain their prescriptions without having to see the doctor on each occasion, and to reduce the possibility of errors. You can only request prescriptions that are listed on your Repeat Prescription sheet.

I have been a patient here for over 40 years; having seen many doctors come and retire I have to say how fortunate I have always felt with the care and attention received by the doctors here. The receptionists are always courteous and I have never had any issues at all; I have spoken with other surgeries in the past for my grandchildren and I am reminded how good Addington are. Yes, there can be a wait time but if urgent you are always seen by a duty doctor. I am very grateful.

If i could give a 0 rating i definitely would. They do not have any GP appointments for 4-5 weeks on end. When you call the surgery some receptionists are rude and just tell you out right their are no appointments without even hearing your side of the story as a patient. I have pharmacists and nurses in my family and when speaking to them they informed me that the GP prescribed me the incorrect medication for my ear infection. I have tried to call the surgery countless times only to be told they have no appointments and to call back in the afternoon. Their staff turnover must be super high as so

We are trying to get some clarification about my partners health. Communication with the GP is terrible in all senses. We have also tried different GPs in the same Medical Centre.
First, the waiting time to get a GP appointment is minimum 4 weeks if you are lucky. We have been back and forth with blood tests and GP appointments for 8 MONTHS. They are extremely inefficient and slow.
Once you speak to them, you have the feeling that they want to get you out of their way and they don't take their time to explain things to you and make you feel better about your health conditions.

It is very hit and miss. Some Dr's are amazing and you couldn't ask for more. Some couldn't care less about you, you just seem like another name to tick off of a list that day! Receptionists are much the same. Some lovely and helpful others rude and need retraining in speaking to patients as the lack of compassion and manners is ridiculous. Hopefully as things with covid start to calm down (eventually) it'll improve, however it seems from other reviews a lot of the issues started before covid.

I was not notified that I was gonna be called on a unknown number so I phone back 5 mins later saying when is the doctor gonna phone me. The doctor was 20 mins late and then they say the doctor is gone. Receptionist are so rude and not accomodating. NHS needs to get better trained staff rather than these knob🙆♂️🙆♂️

The Doctors are good but you have to navigate reception first. I have had several tests go missing that reception then advised I follow up to get the results. On one occasion the test result were at the Addington and it was only due to my persistence they were found. Reception have made several mistakes from sharing incorrect information to booking appointments. I decided that due to ‘unprecedented times’ this was all probably due to pressures on the NHS, however I have just moved to a different surgery and the difference in care and competency is unbelievable! I would never return to the Addington
