From the outset, it was our intention to serve the very best food and drink but within a relaxed, informal yet thoroughly professionally orchestrated environment. Over the years we have been lucky enough to collect many prestigious awards and industry gongs, but it has never been our inclination to rest on our laurels.

Services
The Directors of the restaurant are fanatical wine-lovers and are very proud of the restaurant's wine list. Head Sommelier/Buyer Victor Barr maintains the fabulous list which truly is one of the very best in the UK.
We have invested in our cellar greatly over the years and this ongoing investment enables us to list many great and rare wines during their perfect drinking windows at very reasonable prices, which is not necessarily always the case in other restaurants. We welcome all guests wherever their trajectory on the wine learning curve.

We are only 200 yards from Wandsworth Common British Rail station, not to be confused with Wandsworth Town station. By train, Clapham Junction is 3 minutes away (go to platform 15) and Victoria station 12 minutes (usually platforms 9, 10 or 11). The nearest bridge across the Thames is Wandsworth Bridge and we are a 20-25 minute cab ride from Central London.
Please note that there is a return time of 2 hours and 15 minutes on all tables unless by prior arrangement. Please note that we have two dining rooms: one on the ground floor and a smaller, more intimate room on the first floor. If one or the other is preferred, please call the restaurant directly.

Sometimes you wish you could give out 6 stars, as Chez Bruce is pretty much perfect - I've been a number of times and there's no more reliable top class dining. From the service (outstanding, friendly, thoughtful and charismatic) to the food to the wine, everything is top quality. Simply cannot recommend the place enough.

Lovely busy restaurant. Met Bruce as well and had a lovely chat with him. As a vegetarian, I am usually stuck in Michelin starred restaurants but always have a lovely meal and excellent wine here
Only reason for 4 stars is that one of my courses came out cold but was quickly sorted when I spoke to them.

My husband and I have been to Chez Bruce a few times. We always have such aovely time! On this occasion, we had tmgot married 2 days before. Chez Bruce made it so special Al we will be forever grateful. Thank you so much guys!! As always, the food was incredible and the wine complimented it...the professionals sure do know what they are talking about when it comes to food and wine pairing! We are excited to return on our next special occasion!

A wonderful, wonderful restaurant. I’ve been a few times over the years and it never disappoints. The menu is outstanding- beautiful flavours, great presentation but not fussy nor over the top. It has a great wine list and always offers an interesting beer.
The cheese board is not to be missed- they clearly take great care in curating the selection.
Great staff- attentive without being suffocating.
We’ve never had a bad night here, nor has the experience ever been less than excellent. And at £55 a head dinner is extremely good value.
I highly recommend a visit.

A good restaurant but not great. This was our 4th Michelin star restaurant and we were a little disappointed . Everything from the food to the service to the decor was just good but not what we were hoping for and not nearly as good as the other high end restaurants we have dined at. For us it was overrated and we would not go back given all things considered.

Well my parents love it so they took me for my 50th birthday. I expected it to be pricey but that's ok, you get what you pay for right?
The sommelier was just ok, we asked about a wine from the Napa area because we are familiar with the winery only to hear that she had no real idea about the wine...what? Ok, so go open one and get back to me. Nope, it didn't happen, apparently it was a new wine to the list. Well as far as I know a sommelier is supposed to taste the wines and understand them so why didn't she? She could have offered to open one right there and then and if we didn

Overall - 4.5*
Food - 5*

We finally booked this restaurant after glowing reviews from friends. This is one of only a handful of restaurants South of the river that has a Michelin star but don't let that dissuade you. The front of house wasn't the friendliest and the ambience/venue was understated, but the food more than made up for it. The Parmesan biscuits and bread, especially the focaccia, were excellent. For starters, we had the crispy trotter sausage served with leek and bacon fondue, quail's egg and apple sauce, which was very tasty

So that's how a Michelin starred restaurant tastes like! I didn't know until just now, but I am not surprised.
I was in town after almost two years, so my friends brought me there to celebrate. It was four of us, so we had the chance to try different things on the menu.
As starter, I tasted both the Foie gras and chicken liver parfait (which I believe it's an always on) and the Buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto and peaches.
The Foie gras was really tasty and delicate I think mixing it with chicken liver made it much softer in terms of taste, which is something I prefer.

Beautiful food at a brilliant price. Highly recommend their lunch menu - three exquisite courses for just £29.50 (plus service).
House white wine was just right: dry, almost ice cold. It went swimmingly with our fish main courses.
The ambience isn't too stuffy, either. Sure, there're starched white tablecloths, but the dress code is smart casual, and the clientele were mainly families or friends, with a businessy pair here and there.
Service was attentive, if a little slow (we were there for nearly three hours). Still, that's the luxury of enjoying a leisurely long lunch.

Took my parents and godfather here for a meal to thank them for supporting me through university- recommended by a foodie friend for the occasion. I was blown away by the fantastic service, the delicious food and accoutrements.
On greeting us the waiters took our coats and showed us to a nice round table by the window. It was right by the entry area but sufficiently sheltered that the noise of the restaurant and the cold from the opening door did not disrupt our meal.

I have been to Chez Bruce several times now, always enjoying very much the food. The restaurant proposes every time different menus and at lunch a meal with a carafe of wine can cost around £50, while tt dinner is more expensive. Obviously not exactly cheap, however, you might really experience incredibly good dishes, like the "pappardelle with duck ragu'" that I tasted last time. Delicious. Personal is nice and discrete, portions are not huge, but the combination of the three courses proposed, plus the offer of several (very good) breads and biscuits does satisfy you also in terms

Can't be faulted on quality, service or atmosphere.
We had the Cote de Boeuf to share, simply perfect, tender and well garnished. The deconstructed cheesecake to finish was sublime.
Alas, with somewhere so perfect there is always the bill - which certainly won't disappoint. Don't expect to get out for less than three figures.

Sometimes if you wait too long for something it simply doesn't have a chance to live up to your expectations. Chez Bruce, I waited a long time and unfortunately you fell slightly short. But let me explain...
So, along with hubby I took my parents for a meal one Saturday night. A generous wedding present from work helped fund the majority of our food at £40 a head for the three course menu. I think I chose pretty well, as my tuna starter was beautifully cooked and started the meal off perfectly. Husband being a foie gras aficionado opted for said dish and was greeted with something that looked

My boyfriend said that his lamb was the best lamb he's ever had, and my fish was delicious.
This is an odd aside, but the lighting in just gorgeous - soft and warm, but not too dark to eat in. Everyone looks peachy-skinned and attractive in that kind of light...
There are only two things that aren't perfect about this restaurant. Firstly the tables are far too close together... literally elbow to elbow with the next door table in some of the tighter spots. I knew this ahead of time, so asked for a table in a quiet corner; and they were happy to oblige luckily (definitely do the same

It's nice to have a Michelin starred restaurant south of the river near to me. Chez Bruce is part of a group also comprising fellow starred restaurants La Trompette in Chiswick and The Glasshouse in Kew. Speaking to the waiter at Chez Bruce, the credit crunch has had an effect on some of the fellow restaurants but Chez Bruce's bookings are still holding up well.
Speaking about the booking process, I have to give you a tip. Every time I've booked, I've been told that they're fully booked. However, they have a smaller room upstairs - when I've then asked whether I can

The pride of Wandsworth Common - our own Michelin starred restaurant. The food is amazing as you'd expect - go for the set menu and you'll also get great value.
The service and the atmosphere is also excellent, and a great selection of wines which the friendly sommelier can help you with. The best thing about this restaurant is the value for money - there aren't many Michelin starred restaurants where you can get dinner for under £80 per head.
Highly recommend, but book in advance - usually a 1 month+ wait for weekends.
