Thames Sailing Club
In 2020, Thames Sailing Club celebrated 150 years! Over the course of 2021, we're continuing to celebrate with a number of events, so please check our calendar and website for further information. One of the sailing greats, the Merlin Rocket class is over 70 years old, but you wouldn't know it! We've a great fleet of Merlin Rockets at the club which are ideally suited to the River as well as Omegas, Picos, Toppers and Comets.

There's something for everyone at TSC! Designed for racing on the River here in Surbiton, some of these boats are over 100 years old but are still going strong. The Raters are the most competitive fleet anywhere on the River - fun, fast and furious to sail! Stand Up Paddling (SUP) is one of the most accessible, healthy and exciting sports you can try.
Services
We offer a variety of membership types from sailing, SUPing, student or just a supporting social member. Why not come along to the club, meet our members and have a go on the water? The joining process is simple and informal and our application form can be downloaded below. Here's a helpful guide on how the club is run, Sailing, SUPing, our history and other activities.
We are a registered Charity, and our objective is to promote sailing to those who are inexperienced and to provide a challenging and exciting sailing environment for those with modest and greater experience. In addition we encourage a wide Social membership who may enjoy and benefit from the great ambiance of our bar, wide variety of social events and the wonderful view from our balcony and upper lawns overlooking the river.
Thames Sailing Club was founded in 1870 and is one of the oldest inland sailing clubs in the country. We are the home of the historic Thames 'A' Raters with a history founded on innovation and competition. A friendly environment for like-minded people to join together in the enjoyment of sailing, both racing and social, with appropriate facilities ashore and afloat.
Thames Sailing club has a Constitution, and comprehensive set of Bylaws and Rules by which the Flag Officers and General Committee provide governance to ensure the club is run smoothly. They provide guidance on all aspects of club activity and a code of conduct for members. It is very important that all members old and new be familiar with these rules.
At Thames Sailing Club ("TSC", "we" or "us" "the club") we are committed to facilitating and promoting the sport of sailing and other water sports, encouraging participation by training and racing. In order to do this we collect and use personal data. An important change under the new regulations is that we need to provide a clearly written Data Privacy Notice (this document) to explain how we collect and use personal information.

Great place to launch any form of water craft. Good for any SUP up to 18' but if you want to use it make sure to have the appropriate waterways licence and speak with BlueChip about membership to use the carpark.
