Disclaimer : I hate fish and seafood but having spent years booking this restaurant weekly for people I worked with over a decade ago I felt the need to try it pre theatre last Friday.
There are plenty of options for non fish and seafood Eaters. We were pushed for time so I didn’t get to sample more than a main but my goodness, the squash risotto was INSANE. So tasty and moreish.
A wonderfully relaxed atmosphere in the heart of theatre land. I’ll definitely be back to try some other dishes.

Meals that never disappoint seafood lovers. The restaurant sticks to its specialty and does it well. Service is friendly. I ordered iced berries dessert without knowing what to expect , what a delicious surprise it was .

Excellent place. Loved my oysters (A) and my main, grilled sea bass. The sea bass was brilliant (A+).
My partner had the seafood burger which is something I will have next time. And our friend had the mussels.
I ordered the Hammer of God cocktail, just for the name, and it was quite decent.
I will return.

Great seafood platter at a good price! But I wasn't that impressed with the service. Speed and accuracy were all good and exactly as they should be for a restaurant of this calibre, but, having spent 20 years in Singapore and (especially) Bali, where one is greeted with a more genuine smile, I find here in the UK (and clearly this is not just a reflection of Sheekey's) the depth of feeling is missing. More often than not when I go to say thank you and look up at the server, half way through the server's reply they are already looking away...it's like they know what they should say and that's it

This is a classic restaurant in London.
If you are around and love seafood, and food in general, you cannot miss it!! They also have really good wines and champagnes.
The service is superb, we got served by a guy from Ecuador who spoke perfect English, Spanish, French and Italian. He was absolutely brilliant. The guy at the door is also very nice.
I highly recommend it!!!

I love J Sheekey so much!!! The level of hospitality they maintain in such difficult times is incredible. I particularly appreciate how they make every guest feel special rather than saving kindness for VIPs as so many other places do. Perfect spot for any special occasion.

The host was very helpful and found us a table even though we didn't have a reservation. Very good and polite customer service. The wine list was slightly expensive. The food arrived within reasonable time and it was delicious. Would definitely go again.

Came for a Monday lunch, and had a blast!
Yep his is not a cheap institution, but the quality and the execution speak for themselves.
The place takes you back in time, with its old steakhouse / airport lounge vibe.
The oysters were really fresh and yummy, and both fish portions were delicious.
The apple pie was also great and service is smooth.
Will definitely come back again!

What a venue!!!
I've never had seafood like this outside of coastal towns. The flavour combinations were rich but balanced, the service was amazing but most of all, when we asked for a recommendation, they said all of it. and boy did they deliver.
If you love seafood. Go to J sheekey.

Have walked by multiple times, finally dropped in after Theater Fri night. First lesson: do a reservation here in any case! Staff managed to get me a table outside, while it was getting cold and drizzling outside it still was pretty and perfectly heated. I'm a lover of seafood... and what can I say, it was totally with it. The tempura oyster was just fantastic as was the fish. Great selection of wine.

Very good meal and service. Had the crab bisque to start - tasted good. Then had a couple fish dishes - salmon and cod. Both were well prepared and tasted good. Good atmosphere but missing any wow factor.

This place is over priced and very mediocre. Could have gotten the same meal somewhere else for half the cost. Also they put a $4 "cover charge" when I asked what it was for, my waiter said it was for the bread that they brought out in the beginning. So I followed up by asking why they would bring bread that costs money to the table without asking us if we wanted to pay and he had no answer. To top things off, the food was extremely mediocre. Totally not worth the money. I regret going.

There's two connected but separate businesses here, the bar and the restaurant. The service was first-rate fine-restaurant attentive, and the dinner was quick so I had no trouble at all making my evening show, so I regret to say that the food was more variable. The soup (the variety of which changes regularly) was excellent, and I was very happy to have parmesan fried courgettes, a side I like but can rarely find, especially not at a fine restaurant. My fish, however, was less than ideal. Though a single fillet, it seemed divided into three layers, the top and bottom of which were well

We were looking for a seafood restaurant close to where we were staying for our first meal in London, so we ended up making a noontime reservation at J Sheekey. It is centrally located to a lot of theaters in the West End, so perhaps unsurprisingly, the first question we were asked is if we had a time limit to meet to make a show. Since we didn't, it did allow us to enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant a bit more, and to be honest, I found it quite nice - despite the low ceilings, the floor layout is a bit asymmetric, allowing for spacious seating and enough room to make the seating feel

Great food, I was just turned off that the server sat us by the bar said he was going to seat us when a table became available and never did. We spent over 180$ like nothing, I would just expect better service in the future. Although the food is good. This is a place you have to dress well for seems like they only serve people they deem worthy. I Recommend the food though if you don't mind spending.

I heard it can be difficult to get a table during prime dinner time at J Sheekey, but my friend is a regular and they make exceptions for her. Thus I occasionally have the privilege of tagging along to bathe in the top notch service.

The dining room has an old school steakhouse vibe, however, the menu is anything but. Fish is their speciality and they do it well here. The tuna tartare is artfully presented and delicious - a must if you're doing a multi-course meal. But otherwise, the entrees are well-portioned and will leave you sufficiently stuffed. I appreciate that their menu changes

Absolutely the BEST seafood dining experience EVER!! Started with Chilled Chowder and also the tomato salad - scrumptious!!!!!
Had to have the signature Fish Pie - also amazing!
Equivalent to the quality of the food was the exceptional service - from the arrival through departure. A 12 on a scale of 10!

Good food but very slow service. We also were seated about thirty minutes past our reservation. One of those meals where we had to constantly try to track down a server to ask a question or order something. Besides that, I thought my salmon was good quality but not very unique. My husband loved the lobster thermidor. I also loved the apple dessert with custard. Not sure I would come back because of slow service, but had no complaints about the food.

The seafood here is delicious and I doubt you can go wrong with any pick. We started with some chilled Atlantic prawns, which were super fresh. I regretted only getting a quarter pint! For the main entree, I had the fish stew and the BF had the fish pie. The fish stew had an assortment of seafood, including mussels, scallops, shrimp, fish, and was really rich and savory. On the other hand, I didn't like the fish pie. I think it was the texture and consistency of the fish that I didn't like. I ended up eating just the mashed potato inside. If you like seafood and want something a little

Didn't have the best service here, but I think that's a London thing. We had to grab our waiter for everything, it was even a pain finding someone to grab the check for us.

But besides that the food was pretty good. I got the fried fish. It was really tasty, only wish the portion was a little bigger

Really very nice indeed. Although the menu suggests "meat dishes also available" you're pretty much in the wrong place if you don't like fish or shellfish. The old school, dark wood interior does not detract from what is a thoroughly modern restaurant, that nonetheless has not lost touch with its roots.
Front of house is generally efficient and polite - after booking on line, I had a slight worry when I was called three times in one ten minute period about confirming my booking. All, seemingly, by the same person. Never mind; even mid week, this place was buzzing, but not so

Delightful seafood restaurant right in the middle of the theater district in London. It is steps away from the tube stop and is nestled into a small alley. It offers both in and outdoor dining.
This is an old school experience with precision service and delicious but simply prepared food. This is a top spot for dining in London.
