Walton Lane is a Lancashire local authority maintained nursery school which offers high quality free nursery education to children from the term after their 3rd birthday. We believe that children have a natural enthusiasm for learning and our highly qualified staff support and encourage this by providing engaging and fun opportunities for children to develop their abilities in a supportive and caring environment.
Here at Walton Lane we follow the EYFS and the four guiding principles which support us in shaping all of our practice in the early years. The ways in which children engage with other people and their environment underpin learning and development across all the areas of the EYFS and support children in effective and motivated learning.
Children who have left care under a special guardianship order or child arrangement order in England or Wales. The funding equates to J302.10 per year if a child takes up their full 570 hours of free early education entitlement. We use Early Years Pupil Premium Grant to put in additional support for these children.

My son attended Walton lane, he enjoyed every moment, he never had a bad day. When my daughter was born I did not hesitate where she would go. I do now drive out of my way, but the well being of my children is paramount and is worth the extra time in the morning. The warm friendly staff puts my minds at ease, and looking at my son knowing their gave him a good foundation made the school transition a lot easier.

This place has really gone downhill, the staff do a great job but with ever increasing class sizes they are fighting a losing battle. Small children unsupervised using "colourful" language, my granddaughter came home with a boot mark on her back which was the final straw. No help at all from the owner, disgraceful ..She is in a lovely nursery now...

My son has just finished three and a half years at Walton Lane and sending him here was the best decision we could have made. He started in baby learners just before he turned one and has had caring, attentive, encouraging staff at every stage of his Walton Lane Nursery journey. He finished nursery school more than ready to start primary school and is a confident little boy who loves reading and spelling - all thanks to the dedication shown by his key workers.
Thank you for everything!

I might be a little biased lol but three generations in now.......my brother came here, my children did, many of my childminded children and now my grandson! The staff are brilliant and care for the little ones like their own. Individual needs are catered for and the children are supported to achieve whatever they are capable of and beyond. Would recommend Walton Lane to everyone

I have sent my daughter here and now my son will be leaving in July to start school. Personally I don't think they could have had a better start, a better introduction to school. They have learnt so much coming… here and I look forward to sending my youngest there when his time comes. By far an outstanding establishment for young children to begin their learning journey
I would also like to say how amazing the staff have been. Every single experience with my children, Good and bad, was made so much more enjoyable with support, and each and every problem was resolved so quickly with their

My little girl has spent the last 4 years at this nursery & will leave in 2 weeks time. She has made amazing bonds with children & staff, has loved every minute of her time there, & is well & truly prepared for school. We couldn't have wished for a better nursery. Thank you to every single member of staff x
