The group of Key Stage 2 pupils travelled to Manchester Arena to spend 3 hours rehearsing before entertaining a full audience. This year, one of our main priorities is reading. Children will be taking part in fun and engaging reading activities, aimed to increase progress and attainment and develop a love of reading!

We aim to take the school forward through a positive attitude to change and development and by working together across the whole learning community. We will offer high standards of teaching and learning in order to enable each child to achieve their potential, intellectually, physically and emotionally.
West Street was built in 1907 originally providing education right through to 15 years of age. It now houses a Nursery that takes children from 3 years old for up to 15 hours per week, Reception class (4-5 year olds), Key Stage 1 classes (5-7year olds) and Key Stage 2 classes (7-11 years old).
Due to the type of buildings we have we are lucky to have accommodation that is light and bright with classrooms that are large, attractive and stimulating, making it a pleasant environment for children.Alongside our classrooms we have an ICT suite, an art room, a library, two halls and a parents' room.

The environment your child learns in is an extremely important part of school life. At West Street we aim to provide the highest quality learning environment to ensure all round, whole child, development. We are very lucky to have a significant amount of space both inside and outside. Both buildings have spacious brightly lit classrooms and learning areas, a central hall, toilet facilities and cloak space areas.
There are many different routes into the teaching profession including PGCE, undergraduate courses, SCITT and Teach First. All routes differ and it is important that trainees choose the most suitable course for them. School Direct is a bespoke initial teacher training course designed by an alliance of schools in partnership with a higher education provider.

The staff at west street primary are pritty amazing and go that extra mile for thier students ! If it carry’s on then I will definitely be sending Gracie thier 😁 update on my recommendation this school really is the best and go above and beyond for thier students Apsolutlty amazing through this world pandemic!
