This website has been designed to tell you about the practice and the services that we offer. Please read it carefully. We trust that you will find it helpful and informative. The Stag Medical Centre is situated overlooking the Stag roundabout at the junction of Wickersley Road and Herringthorpe Valley Road.

The Rose Court Surgery is situated on the corner of Rosemary Road and Bawtry Road, Wickersley, in the main shopping area. There are car parks and full access for people with disabilities or who use wheelchairs, at both surgeries. Major bus routes serve both surgeries. The practice has been well established as a general medical practice in Rotherham for over 40 years now and in recent years has expanded dramatically.
Services
Specialist Practitioner Practice Nurses provide chronic disease management for the following; diabetes, respiratory and cardiovascular conditions. Provide routine and travel vaccinations including childhood immunisations, cervical smear tests, wound care management, ear care management, Healthy living advice and management of anticoagulation therapy.
When you are informed you are pregnant please contact reception and they will direct you to the midwifery service. The midwife holds clinics on a regular basis at the surgery. The midwife manages the appointment system so all communication regarding appointments is via the midwife. Are arranged via phone, text, or letter.
Put simply, Patient Participation refers to patients taking an active interest in their health care providers. Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) operate within GP surgeries and health centres. Priorities are developed and agreed locally in order to meet local needs and to reflect the interests and commitment of the participants.
A Carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support. Anyone can become a carer; carers come from all walks of life, all cultures and can be of any age. There are more carers in the country than the entire staff of both the NHS, the public and volunteer care services.
Some patients may be issued with repeat prescriptions for their medication enabling them to continue treatment without seeing the doctor each time a prescription is required. If you would like to order your repeat prescription online you must first register to use this service. Click "Current Prescriptions", indicate which item(s) you require (you cannot order medication until 7 day(s) before it's due).

Waited for a telephone appointment for 2 weeks, told it was at 9.10 am. At 11.30 rang to be told that they don't give appointment times but would recieve a call soon. 5.30pm rang again to be told that a message would be sent to the doctor. When asked when I would hear from them was more or less told I'd have to wait and see. Very curt and rude. Doctor rang and said she'd been trying to reach me. No messages or missed calls tho. All staff should be sent for customer service training.

I am reluctant to give a favourable review as I’m finding it as hard as ‘pushing water up hill’ just to get an appointment, the waiting times and obstacles are ridiculous to be honest, I’m fed up of Covid being used as an excuse, public health England have given GPs millions recently to get their act together and start seeing patients, I just want some bloods doing and a diagnosis in order to live as normal a life as possible but it seems too much to expect.
I hope I can review this score more favourably in the not too distant future but I’m not holding my breath

Intercom system to enter the building is really difficult to hear and consequently I didn’t book in correctly this morning. The appointment I had been waiting for for a month was missed and then was told I should have approached the desk to sort out. I thought I was doing the right thing just sat waiting. Now I have to wait another week for an appointment. I realise there has to be a system during the pandemic, but it’s not great and could hear several people saying they couldn’t hear the receptionist clearly.

I just want to thank Stag Medical Centre
Firstly for the early surgery which is great for me to attend before work,
Secondly to Thea who was in the reception area when I was booking in for my bloods that the Doctor had adv me to book in for. Thea heard me asking the receptionist if I could book in for some time today and Thea kindly said to come in now and would do the bloods straight away.
Excellent service very much appreciated.
