Birchbank is a Lakeland farm on the fells between Coniston Water and the Duddon Estuary. You can enjoy some marvellous views of Coniston Old Man and the Furness fells or the Duddon Estuary from the many bridleways and footpaths which cross the farm and surrounding fell with only the sheep and birds for company.
Our holiday accommodation comprises a self catering holiday cottage with 2 bedrooms and a small campsite with hardstanding, electric hookups and facilities. The area is ideal for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers and the Cumbria Way long distance footpath from Ulverston to Carlisle is only half a mile away.

Services
Birchbank Holiday Cottage is semi detached to a Lakeland farmhouse with an unenclosed hard area with flower tubs and seats at the front. The cottage provides self catering accommodation for up to 4 people plus a baby and is superbly located in the heart of the Cumbrian fells with easy acess to the central and western Lake District.
Our campsite is located on a small grassy site next to the farm. There is a gate leading onto the open fell, and it is mostly flat with a stream running along one side where the children love to play. There are 24 pitches, eight of which have electric hook ups, and a hardstanding area. Caravans, motorhomes and tents are all welcome, and we are only a short detour from the Cumbria Way if you enjoy walking.
These are the weekly prices for the cottage in 2021, the start day is on a Saturday but is flexible from November to March. The charge fora dog is 15 per week. Your dog should not be left in the cottage unattended and will usually need to be on a lead when walking on the fell because of the sheep. A deposit of one third of the hire charge is payable when booking and the balance of the hire charge is due one month before the holiday.
The Steam Yacht Gondola, boating, yachting, windsurfing, fishing, Cruises depart from Coniston Launch. Between Windermere and Coniston Water there is Grizedale Forest where you can walk or hire a cycle or the teenagers can "Go Ape". Lakeside on the west side of Lake Windermere is home tothe Lakes Aquarium which offers an amazing underwater experience.

Just returned from 4 nights camping. Bloody beautiful and we will 100% be returning. Views to die for, perfectly situated in "the middle of nowhere" surrounded by sheep and the most friendly bull ever!! Clean facilities, lovely little touches such as washing up liquid and sponges in the wash room, lots of info on local beaches/walks/maps etc all provided in the wash up room. Honestly sad to have returned. Just stunning!!
