We first opened in 2004 to cater for local demand and offer full day care for children from 4 months to 5 years. In 2010 we expanded by adding a new unit to provide 49 places altogether and we are open all year round. Find out more on our About us page, including details of our latest Ofsted report which rated our Early Years Provision as Outstanding.
The nursery is closed to the children during this period. Our team will take part in training in First Aid (Paediatric and Outdoor Element for Forest School) and Safeguarding Training in order to refresh our certificates and update our knowledge. Unfortunately, we are fully booked in all age groups and have no vacancies to accommodate new children.

Rainbow Room is a home away from home. Our practitioners are kind, loving and caring, working in partnership with parents to support separation and the overall care and development of each child. Children have easy access to small world toys, climbing area, sand, role play, quiet corner, books, soft toys, sensory lights etc.
Domestic activities, such as dressing up, role play and puppetry help to develop language and communication skills. Indoor activities are extended to outside with the extra stimulation of experiencing all weather conditions. Mealtimes are a social time when we sit together with the chance to explore a varied and culturally based menu.
The room is set out in different areas: role play, book corner, carpet area, sand and water area, maths table, writing table, creative area and computer corner. Our children and staff come from different cultural backgrounds, staff members are encouraged to bring their individual talents and knowledge to the children through language, music, arts, cooking etc.
At Seedlings we aim to provide children with well balanced nutritious meals and snacks. We recently took red meats off the menu and use pulses, poultry and vegetarian products instead. We have three menus for Monday to Friday which are rotated weekly during the month.
These include a choice of cereal and fresh or dried fruit for breakfast, a healthy morning snack, a tasty main course and pudding at lunch time and a different healthy snack in the afternoon.Mealtimes are a learning experience for the children and we ensure the children have opportunity to eat plenty of fruit during the day.
