Castle View Guest House is situated in the very heart of the cathedral city of Durham, just a short stroll away from the city's amenities. This 250-year-old guesthouse is surrounded by picturesque riverside walks, and spectacular views of the cathedral and castle. The guest house has recently been refurbished, and are all de-luxe rooms featuring a mix of King Size and Twin beds, 40 inch flat screen TVs, hair driers, tea and coffee etc.

Situated in the heart of Durham City our guesthouse is an excellent base for exploring the local attractions all within walking distance from our guesthouse.

Rooms were fantastic, location incredible. Really thought noise would be an issue in such a busy area but this wasn't the case. Parking is an issue so scout the area for nearby options first.

Comfortable room with lovely bathroom, all beautifully furnished and throughout. Good breakfast, friendly service. Excellent central position for looking round Durham and its sights with free parking available on the quiet road outside. Noticed an odd smell downstairs throughout the stay..

We had a room booked for this coming weekend, but this morning my partner was pinged by the Covid app and has to isolate. The prospect of cancelling train travel and hotel as well as missing the wedding we were due to attend was really stressful, but the lady at Castle View couldn’t have been nicer about it. They even waived the cancellation fee via Booking.com so we were able to receive a full refund just 48 hours before we were due to arrive. We can’t wait to reschedule our trip to Durham for another time and will definitely be rebooking our stay!

Immaculate house. Room beautiful with immaculate en suite. Breakfast delicious and well presented. Would definitely stay again and recommend it. I don't usually give full marks but this place very much deserves it. Slightly confusing parking. But you do get a free pass

The highest quality b & b we stayed in on this road trip. Beautifully appointed rooms, high level of decor, top notch breakfast. Best to park right outside the door and they will give you a parking permit.

I stayed for 3 days.This is a house located in a hill with a lovely garden. It would be inconvenient for people have problem to climb hill, because the path to house is extremely steep. The room is cozy and new.However, 75 pounds per night for a room of B & B in a small town like Durham, it is really expensive.
