Many of his manuscripts and background material (1) are held in Durham University Library. Though no modern biography of him has been written, various articles and papers exist (2) showing a wide range of interest in both his scientific work, and his architectural and garden designs. An exhibition of his life and work was held in1993 in Durham (3), though plans for a more permanent memorial to him at Byers Green were never realised.
Thomas Wright House offers eight beautifully designed bedrooms named after constellations. There are two Luxury Suites, four double rooms, one twin / double room and one triple room. Our luxury rooms, Aquila and Phoenix are ideal for a romantic getaway, Aquila benefits from a private terrace and Hot Tub.

Patio doors open out to its own private terrace where a hot tub awaits allowing you to relax, unwind and to gaze at the wonderful night sky. A super king bed clothed in crisp cotton awaits to give you a wonderful night's sleep.
Corvus is tastefully decorated using heritage colours in keeping with the building. White wooden shutters adorn the windows and a feature metal king size bed clothed in crisp cotton awaits to give you a wonderful night's sleep. The ensuite bathroom has a bath and shower over, complimented by fluffy white towels and complimentary toiletries.
Columba is tastefully decorated using heritage colours in keeping with the building. White wooden shutters adorn the windows and either a Super King or twin beds clothed in crisp cotton await to give you a wonderful night's sleep. New year's eve at Thomas Wright house is definitely the place to be
Beautiful 3 course meal, Brilliant staff lead by Esther who provides excellent customer service. Intimate restuarant and new year celebration with family and friends Accommodation very clean and comfortable with a rear garden room where the dogs were allowed.

Room was clean, bedsheets felt very high quality. Friendly staff and lovely breakfast. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is due to the slats on the bedframe in our room fell out multiple times, which was irritating as they were difficult to put back in. Would stay again, just in a different room.

We were recommended by some friends two hotels and this one had best reviews and looked stunning .
We were not disappointed at all
The staff were so friendly nothing was too much trouble
We were able to get a meal straight away and the food was beautifully presented and tasted beautiful
The whole of the hotel was beautifully decorated with gorgeous Christmas tree .
The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious and tea coffee facilities in abundance
The beds very comfy lovely large powerful shower area

Stayed here last night for a night away with my partner. When we arrived rooms were great and staff were friendly. We had an issue with the water in our jacuzzi bath and without hesitation the staff got us moved into a new room with an out door hot tub. Greatly appreciated. Prosecco in the room. Hot tub, breakfast was lovely an all round gem of a place, will definitely be back

We recently visited here and I've got to say no complaints at all. It was self check in but I received a message explaining everything before my visit and everything was easy to understand and was exactly as the message had explained. We had the room with the hot tub and it was a lovely room. Very clean and good facilities. A lovely touch was a small fridge in the room with a bottle of prosecco chilling in there for us. Breakfast was included with the room and again it was absolutely spot on. The lady owner was there at Breakfast and she was a lovely bubbly and friendly lady.

So easy to check in, clean rooms, I am not sure I've stayed in cleaner, so much has gone into making people feel comfortable and not need things plenty of tea and coffee in the rooms. Breakfast was amazing and plentiful. I was staying for work and hope I need to stay in this area again, just to stay here.
