We, Vikki & Steve, have been running The Acorn Guesthouse since spring 2014 as a family business, although the guest house itself has been established for almost 20 years. Over the last 4 years, we have been lovingly updating the guesthouse to offer our guests a friendly welcome, comfortable rooms, modern facilities, a relaxed atmosphere and a homely environment.

Not to mention our delicious breakfasts, freshly cooked to order each morning. We have a variety of rooms and tariffs available to suit all travellers including, single travellers, couples, friends and families. Whether you are visiting Sunderland to work or for pleasure, we have something to suit everyone.
Services
At The Acorn Guesthouse, we have an abundance of facilities available to ensure your stay with us, is as comfortable as it can be. Please see full facilities listed below. Breakfast: Our hearty Full English Breakfast is cooked fresh to order each morning and consists of your choice of Bacon, Sausage, Egg, Baked Beans, Tomatoes, Hash Brown, Fried Bread & Mushrooms.
Please note: Room rates are subject to change without notice but once your room is booked, the price is secured. Deposit: We take a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking to secure your room. The balance is then taken within 3 days of arrival. Should you place a last minute booking and your arrival is within 3 days, the full amount will be taken at the time of booking.
We will update this from time to time to show different businesses. Naturally produced sea glass ("genuine sea glass") originates as pieces of glass from broken bottles, broken tableware, or even shipwrecks, which are rolled and tumbled in the ocean for years until their edges are rounded off and the slickness of the glass has been worn to a frosted appearance.

Vicky and Steve are wonderful hosts. Gave us a warm welcome to their home. Perfect location for Seaham glass collectors with the best Indian restaurant two min walk away (Yuvraaj). Both are priced very cheaply for guests coming into the area.

Hidden Gem. Stayed for 2 nights b&b. Room & ensuite was very clean, had kettle plus supplies, microwave, TV, fridge, plus other facilities, in fact anything you could need would be supplied.
The breakfast was plentiful, cooked to order and absolutely beautiful, nothing I could fault about it at all. And to top it of the lady who owns & runs the Acorn is warm, inviting, helpful, friendly and has a nothing is too much trouble attitude. At the price it cannot be beaten, brilliant. I would go and stay there again without hesitation.
Thank you for a lovely stay x

Blown away with how fantastic this place is for £45! Brilliant parking facilities, very cute room. I didn't have time for breakfast in the morning so they put a cute basket in my room with plenty to nibble on. If I'm going to split hairs, the TV is very small and old and the bed is a bit hard in my room but I'm literally picking there. Will certainly stay again!!

The acorn guest house was an ideal place to stay. It was situated in a nice area of Sunderland, better than the city centre but not far from it. The hosts were kind and provided a great breakfast and facilities such as a microwave and cutlery and crockery were provided. The bedroom was comfortable and parking for cars and bikes is ideal for security. The value for money was outstanding when I stayed for a Saturday evening in July.

Really nice room, lovely breakfast. The owners are fantastic and go above and beyond for all guests. Perfect place to stay, close to Sunderland City Centre but far enough for a peaceful sleep. Hoping to come back very soon!

A really nice place to stay. Very homely, clean and comfy. Close to Sunderland city centre but not noisy. The guest house is a bit vintage but in a good way. The breakfast is brilliant and the staff are friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here.
