What an amazing pub. We did some biking around Hayfield and we have tried to get into this place a couple of times but they were full. I now can see why.
The food was amazing and the beer was good too. Definitely a great place if you are close to hayfield.
Definitely be back soon when I'm in the area.
Thankyou for a great Xmas Eve meal.

Food was very good, although service was quite slow (it was a Friday just before Christmas, so maybe that was the reason) - maybe intermittent would describe it better. Menu choice was good, the guinea fowl was lovely, but no fish and chips! Portion sizes are generous.
The alcove for a small family gathering was inspirational!

I had been here before with my family around 8 years ago. We all remember how friendly polite and attentive the staff were and how good the food was. It was a drop in whilst passing returning from holiday so we had no idea where it was. Then today i recognised it whilst passing and before i had give it any thought i was turning round and pulling into the car park. So glad i did. Staff just as good. Really good mulled wine and the food was incredible.

Very nice pub, but could not give 5 stars for the following reasons, there were 4 in our party:
1. Rack of lamb, was tough, other 3 meals were v good
2. Breakfast spread was good, but the fried was poor, out of the 4, 2 eggs were over cooked and one very greasy, bacon over cooked and therefor dry .

So superb. Everything absolutely top notch! Food exquisite, accommodation blissful, superb attention to detail, staff attitude fantastic.
Stopped over on our way to pick up our new dog, and The Lamb Inn provided the perfect last night before puppy duties.
Unfortunately not "dog-friendly" - well you can't have everything - but we will be back. It's a real gem!

Stopped over for coffee and puddings, we look forward to returning for a full dinner next time.
We sat outside in the pleasant dining area and there were blankets for if it got chilly. We were not disappointed as the desserts were delicious!Recommended!

A wonderful place to stay on our drive home to London from Cumbria. The accommodation was extremely tasteful and comfortable, and the price reasonable. We dined in the pub in the evening - excellent food and delightful staff (especially Gabby). Highly recommended.

Superb! We had the pork belly, which was alright, then a the very tasty lamb done two ways - a 4-rib rack, cooked perfectly, with two big meatballs. Excellent value despite it being a £22 dish. Decent beer at a good price too, and friendly service.

We had lunch here with the folks. Can't fault this place as a quintessential English Pub. That said, don't be fooled because the food here is top quality and has more in common with a restaurant. With a name like The Lamb Inn, I had to try the slow cooked Lamb Shoulder. It was a decent size and very tasty. Chef produced some excellent food. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Staff were also very accommodating and on-point. Only negative was the waiting time was a little on the long side, but they were pretty busy.

Went for dinner on Saturday - loved it. Lots of lamb on the menu - makes sense with the name! Second time going here and just as good as last time which was in 2019. The desserts (cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding) were well worth the visit on their own. Really friendly team and lovely restaurant inside and out. Will be going again soon to work our way through the menu :)
