This historic pub is regarded as one of the best in the Peak District. Situated just off the Monsal Trail, the pub is surrounded by some of the most striking scenery the Peaks have to offer. Settle down by the open fires or linger outside on sunny days to enjoy real ales and tasty food locally sourced by the landlord.

Absolute gem of a place, friendly and attentive staff and food to die for 😋😋😋 I had the smoked duck with fig to start, braised lamb for main and chocolate hazelnut tart.... My fella had the game terrine, haunch… of venison and the pumpkin pie with toffee apple ice cream..... The most scrumptious food we've had in ages..... Deefookinlishious 😋😋😋😋

Lovely place to have a drink, a meal or both. The food was excellent and value for money. We weren’t sitting round for ages waiting for the food either. The staff were excellent, very friendly and informative. Most important of all dogs were welcome as well. I will definitely be dining here again when we return to the Peak District in the future.

The food was delicious, I wish we had longer in the Peak District to come back and order more items on the menu. We had to wait half an hour for our table, but we were able to wait in the covered beer garden with a couple of drinks. Once our table was ready the service was seamless and we had a lovely meal.
