We had booked a table earlier in the day.... no one said about only having one chef and that food would take a long time..... until we ordered.... a customer next to us said the service was a bit like faulty towers..... however well done to the one chef... we enjoyed our meals!

Great menu, with seasonal food. Great range of real ale, wine and spirits. Staff very attentive and friendly. One of those pubs that you have to visit, enjoy the ambiance, the quirkiness, the food. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

Absolute gem of a place, friendly and attentive staff and food to die for 😋😋😋 I had the smoked duck with fig to start, braised lamb for main and chocolate hazelnut tart.... My fella had the game terrine, haunch… of venison and the pumpkin pie with toffee apple ice cream..... The most scrumptious food we've had in ages..... Deefookinlishious 😋😋😋😋

This was a great choice to refuel after walking the Monsal Trail. Not too far from the viaduct, but a very steep climb. The staff are fantastic and the quality of the food was a surprise for a village pub, and for all the right reasons. Highly recommended eating here. I know I will👍♥️

Lovely old world country pub with a roaring fire to welcome us! Lovely meal and helpful staff! A bit slow, but it was because they were trying to squeeze everyone in!

A lovely pub with excellent beer and food at reasonable prices. Warm welcome and helpful courteous staff. We had the local sausages, pork belly and beef dishes. All delicious and good portions. Puddings also enjoyed.

Lovely place to have a drink, a meal or both. The food was excellent and value for money. We weren’t sitting round for ages waiting for the food either. The staff were excellent, very friendly and informative. Most important of all dogs were welcome as well. I will definitely be dining here again when we return to the Peak District in the future.

The food was delicious, I wish we had longer in the Peak District to come back and order more items on the menu. We had to wait half an hour for our table, but we were able to wait in the covered beer garden with a couple of drinks. Once our table was ready the service was seamless and we had a lovely meal.

The food here is really lovely (and nice value) as is the venue - warm and welcoming. The team have adapted the space in terms of Covid-19 sensibly and their approach is well considered.
