Country walk, 5 miles to visit this pub. Checked on the pubs own web site that it was actually open.
When I arrived There was a sign at the door saying they were closed because they were fitting a new kitchen floor. Real over site that they did not take the trouble to add that information on their own website.
10 mile walk without drink or food. Not happy.

Fantastic. Walked from Combs reservoir, first time visit to the Beehive, although known about it for years. Covered area with heaters to the front of the pub, step inside to a stone flag floor and cosy interior, friendly atmosphere and welcome. First rate food, I had the Fisherman's platter, smoked Scottish salmon, prawns, mackerel pate salad and crusty bread and a pint of Wainwrights. Off the beaten track but well worth a visit.

Really nice place went in after a long walk and the staff were really welcoming. the food was delicious had a steak and ale pie which was beautiful. the meat was so tender and soft in really melted in my mouth. chips couldve been fluffier but that's just how I like them. all the waitresses were friendly and attentive aswell.

Fantastic little pub. Seemed like everyone else thought so too, as on a Wednesday evening it was packed.
Homely and dog friendly too. Few different rooms to sit in, including a nice covered outdoor seating area to the front of the pub.
Normal range of drinks available, with a good menu to choose from.
Service was very friendly, a little slow, but as they were full that was expected.
The food is delicious. We'll presented and fresh, no complaints there.
The ploughman's in particular is excellent value. A bread board covered in home cooked ham, paté and cheeses, along with all the accompaniments
