A traditional Yorkshire pub in the picturesque village of Wighill serving cask ales, fine wines and the freshest locally sourced food. Your hosts John and Di look forward to welcoming you to The White Swan. A traditional Yorkshire pub oozing charm and character, serving locally sourced produce in a picturesque village.
Having given a great deal of consideration regarding the opening of the White Swan, we have come to the conclusion that it wouldn't be viable to operate without being able to fire on all cylinders. Once again good luck to everyone opening in April. Both Di and I would like to wish the best of luck to all the pubs opening in April, even though they will be restricted to having an outside offering.

What makes a pub great...the hosts!!
John and Di made us feel welcome the moment we stepped through the door, with their friendly banter and pleasant demeanour.
The food was lovely, though I did have food envy throughout the meal though wanting to swap with my husband who had chosen steak and ale pie with chips...oh well maybe next time as I am sure we will be back :-)

Most amazing Sunday lunch. A scrumptious nicely pink roast beef surrounded on the plate by roasted potatoes, parsnips and carrots. Also came with super red cabbage and yummy cauliflower cheese. My other half was gushing in praise of her slow cooked belly pork with super crispy crackling. She shared the same mix of vegetables. Following all of this was really fruity crumble. Plus coffee to wash it down.
The pub itself was a real gem retaining the small rooms which gave a nice sense of privacy.

Fantastic friendly village pub. My husband and I found this gem while out cycling. It is cyclist friendly with a bike stand in the beer garden. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Serve a wide range of drinks including coffee. Food is served here and the Sunday roast is very tasty and great value for money. Every time we visit the York area to cycle we always call in here.
