Clarence House Residential Home
Clarence House is a family run care home. We have 27 bedrooms with one of the rooms being a double room. Clarence House serves Dorset and surrounding areas. The home is registered under the Health and Social Care Act 2008, with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and received a "good" rating at the last inspection in 2018.

We offer specialist care at Clarence House to assist people living with dementia. We have implemented many aspects of design including the use of lighting, colours, signage and other facilities, and even a circular footpath. All staff have had appropriate training and senior staff have undertaken industry leading dementia and mental health training programmes.
Services
Debbie has strong person centred philosophy and ensures her team strikes a balance between providing support when it's needed and helping residents to maintain independence. She promotes a full and active lifestyle wherever possible and ensures a warm, friendly atmosphere where residents can live with dignity and privacy in a safe, caring environment.
At Clarence House we believe that food and nutrition are two of the most important factors in the well being of our residents. For a start good food is important for everyone's enjoyment of life and particularly so for the elderly and the frail. Good nutrition is vital for sustenance and recovery. All of our food is freshly prepared on the premises by our own team of qualified cooks.
All of our residents at Clarence House are individually assessed to determine their needs so that we personalise our care services to meet those needs, whilst maximising the potential to live a normal life. All of our care staff have undertaken dementia and elderly mental health training and know how to deal with the additional needs caused by dementia and give the best possible care.
We believe strongly in the importance of keeping minds and bodies as active as possible to assist a person's welfare and therefore provide a full range of stimulating activities and entertainment. We have dedicated activities coordinators who spend time with each resident individually to understand their interests and capabilities.
The Dudsbury Suite has over 33 square metres of floor space and features an en-suite bedroom and a separate private lounge and dining room in a bright and airy conservatory. It also has high quality furniture and soft furnishings, although residents may choose to bring some of their own furniture.

I cannot praise Clarence House highly enough. The utmost care and consideration is given to my mum and we are pleased and reassured.
The staff are friendly fun and efficient, and the management are kind and very well organised many activities take place from day to day and mum is never bored. I feel that she is loved appreciated and cared for as the individual that she still is. She loves the outings and the environment. The gardens are beautiful and made with residents comfort and stimulation in mind. It's such a difficult decision to make but the staff have made it so much easier.

My mum has been resident for 3 years. It is clean, no smells and well furnished. The staff are exemplary and they retain the same staff which is rare these days. Mum was in another home for 3 months...it was awful and we returned her immediately to this well run with gebuine caring staff.
If only all homes were anything like this one.
