From 10am - 4pm across the weekend. Our aim is for the team at Just to dig potatoes from their field next to their production facility in Hill Ridware and produce a bag of crisps that can be eaten by our customers here at the Farm in under 30 minutes. A real field to fork (or mouth) experience! If you would like to pop down and try them, the plan is for the crisps to arrive to us at 12pm on the day.
Our Autumn Market on the Farm will showcase the best of Local Producers & Artists from 10am - 4pm across the weekend. Canalside Farm, Shop and Caf is located in a beautiful conservation area just a few miles outside the county town of Stafford. This tasty vegetarian dish from the BBC Good Food Guide was highly recommended by a customer who said they found it.

Services
It was back in 1983 that we bought this small holding in Great Haywood and planted our first strawberries that spring. From the beginning we have provided soft summer fruits, kitchen vegetables and garden plants directly to businesses across the region, and also to the local community from our Farm Shop - one of Staffordshire's first!
Our team of Butchers, Tom, Norman, Jack & Aaron are all experts in their field. They pride themselves on sourcing the highest quality, ethically reared meats from local farmers who they know and trust. Our local farmers include, Mark Robinson in Gnosall for Rare Breed Beef, Packington Free Range Farm in Tamworth for Pork & Chicken plus Rue Barn Farm in Eccelshall for Lambs.
Our new Cafe Menu is now available both inside the Cafe & on the deck of our Cafe overlooking the Canal. Please enter via the main doors to the Cafe and choose your table either inside th Cafe or out on our deck overlooking the canal at the back of the Cafe, you will need to do this before you order at the till please so that you can give the member of our team on the till your order number for any food to be taken out to.
Our Online Shop is packed full of local & seasonal treats for you to purchase from the comfort of your own home. As a local I visit the cafe regularly. As usual the food was a good standard but the whole dining experience was not good. A lot of tables, both inside and outside, had not been cleared and other tables had not been cleaned. Under our table were blobs of mashed potato which we had to avoid when sitting down and the table surface felt sticky. Until this is rectified I will not be using the cafe in the future. It just felt grubby and dirty.

We found this place in the Brit Stops catalogue!
We enjoyed a comfortable Friday night's sleep here!
The farm shop sells good quality fresh produce with a fantastic range of different items! We also enjoyed a fabulous belly buster breakfast on Saturday morning in the cafe! All the staff at the whole site were really friendly and helpful!
There's a great pub five minutes walk away called The Clifford Arms (see our review) and plenty of canal walks including Shugborough Hall which is about fifteen minutes walk away!
Cheers
Nigel 🙂

I used to like visiting here with the Mrs but the atmosphere has completely changed, prices have gone up and the staff are dropping like flies and the poor staff that remain look unhappy. There’s no customer service you just get treated like a pound sign. I’ve tried speaking to management but they just don’t seem to know what they are doing. My personal opinion is to avoid this place you can get nicer and cheaper elsewhere. This place is not what it used to be and I’m not the only one that thinks this. The whole village feel the same, we have lost what used to be a nice local.

Lovely place selling some gorgeous fruit, veg, meat and more in the lovely little shop. Went today for the Pumpkin picking event and it was all so well organised eventhough it was busy. The staff were all… really friendly and efficient. Toilets on site and all flat ground so easily accessible, even in a wheelchair it shouldn't be too bad. The UV maze was great, even for adults! Really enjoyed our day! Will return! 😀

Canalside Farm actually wasn't what I expected, but it was still good. We went to both the Cafe and the Farm shop just before Christmas because of three reasons;
1) We'd heard good things
2) We needed to buy my Uncle some cheese for Christmas
3) I love farm shops
In the cafe, I had the eggs Benedict, which was gorgeous, just the right amount of hollandaise, enough pepper to cut through the richness, all in all a good show. The most impressive looking thing on our table was the burger, a big plate loaded with chips and salad, however it wasn't a gorgeous thick patty like we expected
