Melton Museum is inviting Deborah Miles to choose a unique object for an online Archaeological Illustration workshop. Deborah previously worked with the University of Leicester's Archaeology and Ancient History department, and now runs her own art & heritage business, DM Artology. You will learn more about the fascinating Roman bird brooch - and bring it to life through drawing, with Deborah's help and guidance.
The museum is in the centre of Melton Mowbray, within an easy walk of the market, shops and many local cafes and restaurants. Entry to the museum is free. Melton Carnegie Museum is housed in the town's former Carnegie Library with the entrance is on Thorpe End, opposite St John's church. A step-free entrance, suitable for wheelchair and buggy users, can be accessed at the side of the building on Rosebery Avenue.
The Friends of Melton Carnegie Museum meet monthly, usually on the third Tuesday of the month at 2.30pm. For more information about joining the Friends and their programme, please contact us or pop into the museum. Attending the talks is free for members, and if you would like to attend a talk without joining up, the cost is 3. Everyone is welcome.

I enjoyed this museum with my youngest daughter who went here with me in December and to the Xmas tree festival as well as her mother and father combined
There were fox hunting clothes in the tall glass cabinets leaves that you stand on on the floor and they dissapear and a coffin with a person in it glass which is how they used to bury people of a certain origin
It’s worth a muse while in the town and the place is free to go into.as well

My niece and I have just had a lovely time visiting the museum on a wet and miserable afternoon. There was loads for us to do and see, and she thoroughly enjoyed looking for the clues! She is also really happy… with the dream catcher we made and enjoyed using all the craft items you made available. Thanks for a great visit. We will definitely return.
