The Island Day Nursery
Our aim is to encourage all aspects of your child's development, creating a balance between play and learning. To encourage a family atmosphere, teaching children to have respect for each other, thereby learning to relate to one another and building an attitude of caring and sharing. To provide a loving, caring environment where children can learn through imaginative and creative play.

To provide games and activities which develop your child's skills and self-awareness, whilst they have fun. To ensure that your child's physical and emotional needs are met whilst they are in our care. To provide materials and challenges aimed at encouraging excitement and motivation for learning. Our main objective is to ensure that the children have fun, enjoy their time with us and learn in a calm, relaxed and natural way.
Services
All 3 and 4 year olds (and some 2 year olds dependant on personal circumstances) will be entitled to the early years free funded childcare amounting to 570 hours per year. We can stretch the entitlement if you wish your child to attend for the 51 weeks, we are open. This equates to 11 hours per week.
The Island Day Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. If you are worried about a child please liaise with one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads. A list of the Designated Safeguarding Leads is displayed in the entrance lobby of each of our settings.
All Island Day Nursery staff are fully qualified with the relevant childcare training ranging from Level 3 NVQ up to post graduate degree. All our staff are fully trained in Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid which is renewed regularly, with more senior staff doing a higher level of Safeguarding training.
