Deanwood Holidays
We are now in Tier 4 so Deanwood Holiday Cottages are currently closed to holiday makers, however the office is open and we can take future bookings. If it turns out that we still have to be closed when you are booked to come, or you are not allowed to travel to us, then we are offering either full refunds or, if you prefer, transfer to a later date (subject to any difference in price).

Our Holiday Cottages have direct access into the Forest of Dean where it is possible to walk for miles without meeting another person. Being in a quiet rural area away from crowds, roads and traffic, they are the ideal place in which to escape society. The Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, is an ancient oak woodland which is home to deer, buzzards and wild boar as well as many other little animals and birds.
Services
Deanwood Holiday Cottages in the Forest of Dean is run by husband and wife team, John & Elaine Edwards. This is a new venture for us. We had spent all our married life living and working in Suffolk where we raised three children and had many good friends, and were the proprietors of an upmarket bathroom showroom.

Pet friendly self catering holiday cottages in the Forest of Dean. With beautiful walks into the Forest from the door, Deanwood holiday cottages are the perfect place to bring your four-legged friend. Pets are welcome in 10 of our 13 holiday cottages. Lovely cottages next to the forest. Very clean, dogs get a welcome box and it is a well equipped place. There is a little park for the children and a large green space to have picnics, BBQs etc on. Our cottage was fairly small for 5 people (tigs) but it didn't really matter to us as the weather was beautiful so we were outside most of the time. We had a great time and want to come back again soon!

Our family had a fantastic stay in the Coachman's Cottage. We visited the Cannop Trail Centre everyday and it was only a short drive away. The property was well equipped, clean and the beds comfy. The bike storage was also brilliant. We loved Deanwood and will definitely be returning for more adventures. Visitors should definitely check out the woods accessible from Deanwood. We saw deer and wild boar during a walk there and it was very beautiful. There are also a few single-track trails used by mountain bikers in there.

We've camped here for the last 4 years, but due to a late visit, being too cold to camp we stayed in a cottage. On arrival, I had brought bleach etc to do a mega Covid clean, but soon realised that the cottage was in fact spotlessly clean. I'm a bit OCD with cleaning, but this place was absolutely faultless. We had a lovely stay, as usual. The site is perfect. Everything there you could wish for. Thank you for another perfect holiday.

A lovely, well kept site, immaculately clean toilets and showers and good social distancing measures. We had an electric, grass tent pitch in the Foxglove field which had spectacular views across the valley to the the forest. The pitch was level and spacious. There is access to the forest directly from the site although the steep climb back up was challenging. Unfortunately our visit coincided with 40mph winds and given the exposed position of the site we decided to leave 2 days early whilst our tent was still just about in one piece! That is obviously not the fault of the site but something to

First class place, very well kept by John and his staff. Forest of Dean right next to the site for great walks. Great views over the Dean valley. Really can't fault. We were a caravan unit on the hard standing motor home section, not a problem. Happy to comeback sometime.

Very nice place. Clean and tidy. Great to have a woods particularly on your doorstep. One downside, no parking outside some of the cottages, except to unload and load. Parking is provided not to far away.

Third year staying at this amazing site. No kids, but lots of dogs. The site is tidy, well organised and right next to lots of forest walks. Wifi, showers are ideal and well kept. The pitches are a really good size with hedges to mark each boundry. John and Elaine always make you feel very welcome. Pubs are close, but steep walk back.
We will keep going as it is one of our favorite sites. I even thought twice about writing this review as it seems to be a well kept secret.
They also keep the campers seperate to the motor home lot. This is great and works really well.

This is not what we normally go for but we’re really glad we did. Got a friendly welcome and WOW what a view. We stayed in our camper van and for the camper vans and tents you get the best pitches with stunning views. The caravans not so much.
The site and facilities are immaculate, fantastic location with loads to do in the area. Don’t be put off by all the rules this site is definitely worth a trip

Decent stay!! The bungalows were cosy enough and well catered for, with everything you could think of to pass the day if it rains... from books to games. Great woods nearby and Wendy house and some other things for kids. The owners are a very nice couple who are there if you need them. Would go back without a doubt.
