Salt Marsh Lamb offers a unique flavour due to them grazing over the natural grasses and samphire of the salt marshes in Romney Marsh in Kent. These marshes are free from any fertilizers and provide an environment where the sheep can roam freely. We have been working with the same supplier for our Scotch Beef for many years, as the quality and the taste of the meat from their farm is far superior to anything else we have found from other sources.
Our Blythburgh pork comes from the herd of free range pigs that are reared on the picturesque north Suffolk coast. These pigs benefit from being reared for four weeks longer that conventionally reared pigs to allow the delicious flavour and mouth watering succulence to develop fully. Our chickens come from Caldecotts Farm where they breed the Cotswold White, a slow growing breed specially selected for traditional free range growing.

We have been working with the same supplier for our Scotch Beef for many years, as the quality and the taste of the meat from their farm is far superior to anything else we have found from other sources. They supply us with meat produced from an Angus Limousin cross that produces a tender cut of meat that our customers appreciate.

The pigs that produce Blythburgh Free Range Pork are born outside and spend their entire lives outdoors in the fresh air, with freedom to roam in large paddocks, rooting around in our sandy Suffolk soil and playing with their peers. They have shelter when they need it, in the form of large airy tented barns in each paddock with plenty of bedding straw.

Our chickens come from Caldecotts Farm where they breed the Cotswold White, a slow growing breed specially selected for traditional free range growing. This provides a wonderful flavour, texture and taste compared with mass produced birds. The flock needs round the clock protection after arriving as chicks for about four weeks.

After visiting Bushy Park we decided to explore for a butcher for our roast later that day. We came across PJD and the staff were incredibly friendly which is not something often found in butchers across London in my experience.
I purchased a leg of lamb and some Hampton sausages, both of which were fantastic, to the point where I will now drive from West London to visit as a regular.

Wonderful butchers with a great range of produce and an all round excellent service. I have been going here for about a year now and the meat is always of a high quality and the products that they make themselves (such as the sausages) are fantastic. The staff are professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend a trip to this butchers if you live in the area. (Please note that I was surprised to read that someone had rated this butchers with one star below - obviously this is a 'joke' review though on reading it, which is a little sad, as without this irresponsible reviewing the butchers

P.J Dales has been Molesey's favourite village butchers for 18 years. The meat is all top quality free range and British. And you can taste the quality. The late Peter Dale is much missed, but the team are continuing with his high standard of produce.
P.J Dales is well known for being a licenced game dealer, and specialises in game sausages, and rare breed beef. If your tastes veer towards white meat, the chickens (French, free range) are mouthwateringly good. They are used in the cafes up the road for chicken dishes and sandwiches. There is also a good range of a label called Home Farm
