Services
Merdyn is a family run day nursery which has been established for over 20 years, and is idyllically situated 1/2 mile from the centre of Holywood. We can be found set in the hills overlooking the town centre with panoramic views out over Belfast Lough to the lush green hillsides of County Antrim. The nursery building is a large Victorian house dating back to 1867.
Merdyn provides high quality and loving childcare for children aged between six weeks and five years old. We have five age specific rooms including babies, tiny tots, toddlers, pre-school juniors and pre-school seniors. Babies 6 weeks to 15/18 months. Babies are offered a curriculum that engages all areas of development.
At Merdyn we are spoilt for choice with outdoor facilities. All children enjoy time to explore, imagine, create and be physical in one of our outdoor environments on a daily basis. Children from our Pre-School rooms are given the opportunity to extend their learning, creativity and imagination all in one exciting place.
Nursery food is freshly prepared, providing an interesting and varied nutritional menu. Fresh fruit and vegetables are included daily. Breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack are all served and each day's menu is displayed for parents to view. If a child has special dietary requirements these can generally be catered for.

A phenomenal day nursery that we have loved for our kids and ourselves as parents. We’ve had peace of mind from day one and have loved seeing our kids love the nursery back. I cannot praise the baby room and tiny tots highly enough. They integrate Montessori, messy play, developmentally appropriate activities and self directed play. Strong parent communication, beautiful facilities and competent caring staff. An absolute gem - highly recommend!
